the first time
Like my profile states, I was in the U.S. Airforce for roughly five years, during my call of duty, i was able to travel to a small island belonging to japan; Okinawa. There had been rumors of bizarre events happening in the area, but many of us service members had chosen not to believe it. As my profile also states im a photographer and couldn't pass out on documenting my experiences in the great island of Okinawa. On one instance I was out exploring the ammunition storage area looking for ruins of the ancient Ryukyu islanders...what i encountered was just that. due to the overgrown jungle covering much of this area, i had brought a machete and of course my beloved rolleicord. As i wandered through the jungle i came across what started to look like a temple. Being as respectful ass possible of the history of this great place of worship, i saw what appeared to be decomposing bodies come towards me. At first I thought to myself " is this another stupid training exercise", but once these creatures noticed me, thats when i knew the legends i had previously heard were true...You see, during WWII, American military forces tried to occupy Okinawa, seeing it as a strategic locating to fight the Japanese, unfortunantly, this caused many Okinawan's who were neutral, to commit suicide. the legend we all chose to believe was that many of the monks who saw their families, friends and neighbors die, swore to get their vengence on service members occupying Okinawa. As these creatures started towards me i backed away slowly, my heart frozen and mind blank. I gripped my machete and screamed for them to stop. Once they heard my voice, it ignited something sinister in them and they ran towards me...as i braced myself for what was to be the last seconds of my life, 100's no 1000's of things flashed before me and i understood what i had to do. I turned back and ran from the decrepit ruins...but as anyone whose tried to navigate through the jungle will tell you, the best way to back track is very very very slowly...the flashbacks are just too much right now, i must finish this entry at a later date
Stay strong survivors
