I must have dozed off, because the next thing I knew, I heard groaning from our bedroom. I rose, listening through the door before I opened it slowly. A glance at the alarm clock showed me that it was nearly four in the morning. My husband was laying on the bed, thrashing in his fever, face pale.

I really don’t know why I am sitting here writing, maybe I hope someone will be left to read it, to find out what happened to me. I am alone. Everyone I love is dead. Well, I think so anyway. My parents were hundreds of miles away, we moved away from them years ago. Since there is no phone or internet anymore, well, I have to assume they are. Hello, I'm new around here, and thought that before I posted anything. I have a story up at a Dawn of the Dead website, a fan story site, and decided that I would revamp it and add to it.
