"I have been married thirteen years. I would do everything in my power to save the lives of my husband and children, or even another child. For me though, it wasn't so much the running away as the reaction when he found out that they had found…"

Alaira replied to Bernie's discussion If you raided a gun store what would you grab?
"Given that I have no experience with anything other than squirt guns and other toys, I would have to have something easy to use, load, and with little recoil. I am only 5'2, and I admit I am out of shape, though I am trying to fix that because…"

As I Sit Here Writing: Part 2

I must have dozed off, because the next thing I knew, I heard groaning from our bedroom. I rose, listening through the door before I opened it slowly. A glance at the alarm clock showed me that it was nearly four in the morning. My husband was laying on the bed, thrashing in his fever, face pale.I pressed my hand to his forehead, and felt his skin. He was burning up. As I pulled back, he took a deep rattley breath. I waited for the breath to come out, but nothing happened. I couldn’t believe it…See More

As I Sit Here Writing: Part 4

We were on the outskirts of a small town when the gas tank got low enough that we had no choice but to stop to refuel. The kids were still asleep, so Rick and I talked for a few moments about how to do it before he climbed out. Our eyes kept darting around as we made our plan.

He was going to go into the store and turn on the pumps, and see if there were any weapons to be had. I would pump the gas and keep an eye out for any trouble. He would grab whatever supplies he could from… Continue

Standing there was a man who was looking at me. When he noticed me just staring at him, frightened of course, he mouthed something and I cracked the window barely enough to get two fingers through, but it was enough to hear him.

“Lady, you okay?” He asked, that was a good sign. Whatever these things were, they didn’t speak. He also appeared to be wearing what looked like a police uniform, though the shirt was unbuttoned. He held a badge up, shining a flashlight on it so I could see… Continue

I really don’t know why I am sitting here writing, maybe I hope someone will be left to read it, to find out what happened to me. I am alone. Everyone I love is dead. Well, I think so anyway. My parents were hundreds of miles away, we moved away from them years ago. Since there is no phone or internet anymore, well, I have to assume they are. Them, my brother and sisters, and their families. It hurts, but I know I can’t do anything about it. My babies, they’re gone. Thank whatever god is left… Continue

Introducing myself

Hello, I'm new around here, and thought that before I posted anything. I have a story up at a Dawn of the Dead website, a fan story site, and decided that I would revamp it and add to it. If anyone wants to see what it originally loooked like, you can go HERE. It has the same title, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my contributions to this community.
