With guns far less prolific here finding ammo on the shelf will stop pretty quick. Hell my local store didn't have any 45/70 on the shelf at all last time I was there, most things they have one or 2 boxes of except .22

No one is considering the fact that the machinery to make the bullets will still be there. You just have to find it. Raw materiasls will initially be stockpiled but after that you have to find sources. Should think about locating local custom ammo…

You guys aren't considering muzzle loading weapons, yes the are massively slower and less accurate, however they are very easy to maintain over along period of time, and it is much easier to make "reloads" for them.
