So many days have passed. I'm sorry to report that I have been bitten.

 

Slowly, I feel that I am turning into one of them. Wanting blood. We've been working on a cure. Hopefully, it works. I want nothing more than to be normal. I hate this feeling of wanting blood. What else can I do but lust of blood?

It's been a while since I posted. The trip didn't go well. We lost another person. But we have to focus on the silver lining of it all. We managed to find more canned goods. And blankets. We should be set for winter. Things like this make you wonder just how far back we've fallen. Civilization is next to none anymore. Technology is basically useless now. The earth is reclaiming itself. Buildings are falling apart. The world is a ghostland. Except for the dead that walk.

It's getting colder outside. Winter is the hardest. The light outside is dimmer. The night comes earlier. And food is scarce. Having a small group is easier but it brings up the problem of strength. Our strength lies in our numbers. Last winter we lost 6 people. Pneumonia. Frostbite. And just plain insanity. Having no medicine to speak of, we cannot afford another sickness outbreak. Hiding inside a church you'd assume eventually all paths would lead to God. When I was young, more than a decade before the infection, every night I'd say my prayers. If I should die before I wake.
