the aftermath pt 1

They called it the Campion virus, might as well of called it the T virus as far as I was concerned!Years of horror movies have left me jaded, jaded and wise! When the World Health Org. declared the virus a pandemic I knew! I knew this would end badly! Of course I wasn't thinking reanimated corpses, zombies, or the walking dead! I figured this was just another population control tactic, created by the government to weed out and destroy the poor and stupid, that was until our President got sick.…See More

About Me...
Nov.17th 2007
Today is my birthday, I'm scrawling this down on an old paper bag, the world is in chaos and I have no one to turn to. Everyone I know is gone, too far gone to remember my birthday anyway. I remember trying so hard to get into that camp, St Teresa they called it, no insurance and full of fear but the passes were gone. Now I'm so thankful that I didn’t. I am a survivor , if that’s what you call it, surviving.
For the past few weeks I have been scavenging around for food, shelter, just trying to stay alive, and I've killed. If you can call it killing. They were all already so far gone. I'll never forget it as long as I live, which in this day and age won't be long. I feel like its been years , the weeks leading up to this disaster all seem a blur, one day suddenly everything went wrong. Reanimated corpses! I couldn’t believe it, that is until my mother fell ill , and I had to chop her head off with an axe. These things keep me up at night, the look in my mothers blood drenched eyes as I lopped her head off, and it didn’t happen like in the movies ,one clean sweep, I had to hit her several times to get the neck to sever. I will always remember that sound coming from her mouth as she lunged for me , drooling wildly with hunger, rage, thirst all of the above.
So here I am , on my birthday in an old hotel room high up on the 4th floor, I can hear them outside while I write, I'm hoping they move on soon so I can escape! I need to keep searching for other survivors, I have to find anyone who can help me survive, anyone who can at least share this pain and terror with me..
If your out there I will find you. I'm no scientist but I know there has to be a way to end this madness, to at least make them extinct and move on with life. If I don't keep telling myself this I fear I will lose the strength I have to fight and just let them eat me.
At the time of the zombie outbreak I was...
working at the local animal shelter
Weapon of choice for fighting zombies...
swords, axes, anything melee that doesn't have to have bullets.

The dead they walk with shuffling feet,

In the streets they wait to eat,

To them I smell like a tasty snack,

My brains to them are akin to crack,

They moan ,they groan, they drool, they bite,

My delicate flesh a zombie delight,

In the darkness I do creep,

To find supplies like food to eat,

Surviving like a gutter rat,

Them and me and a baseball bat,

I hear them coming I need to run,

But not before I have some fun,

And there one stands… Continue
