I was just a normal guy, going to college, going to work. Just trying to make something of myself I suppose, like anyone else would. I was on my way up to my apartment when I heard what sounded like wet sheets being torn. You know how in the movies you always see that one person go to check it out and you say to yourself, "If that were me, I would just get the hell out of there," well for some unknown reason I went to check it out. The closer I got to the sound the more I could make out. I began to hear gurgling sounds like someone was drowning so I hurried up around the corner because I thought that maybe someone was in serious trouble. Unfortunately, it turned out that the person in trouble was me. I'll never forget the sounds of flesh being stripped from bone. I was so caught up in trying to just get my mind around what I was seeing that I didn't notice the shadows that began to close in. I didn't snap out of my trance until I felt cold hands close around my neck. I thought I was done to be honest, then came the loud crack, like you hear when a baseball player hits the ball on the sweet part of the bat. The ghouls hands released and he fell flat on his face. I owe my girlfriend more than anyone could ever know. We're all in this together now regardless of if we chose to be or not. And I refuse to let these things win...
