I agree the shotgun is a very good choice, however I disagree on a few points.
1. I would prefer the #5 buckshot at closer ranges.
2. A 500 series Mossberg is going to be heavier than say your standard Ruger 10/22.

I found out Makarov's have free floating firing pins so I won't bee getting one of those. I might go with the PPK, I believe it has a firing pin spring so its not likely to go off if you drop it.
