Your Friendly Neighborhood Zombie, Pt. 2: Dr. Pepper

Posted on May 2, 2009 at 6:33pm 0 Comments

The power was out again. I shuffled down the hall to the basement door and pushed it open. The stairs were still wet and I fell down them. I landed on the concrete floor with a sickening thump. I made sure nothing was broken, and pulled myself over to the door. I grabbed the mace (Don't ever leave without some weapon) and left the house. The sun blinded me, and I shielded my eyes with my arm. I hobbled down the street to Mr. Calvin's place.

Mr. Calvin, one of the oldest men around,… Continue

Your friendly Neighborhood Zombie, Pt. 1: Mickey Mouse

I awoke with the usual stiff feeling of sleeping on a broken and stained mattress. I fell out of bed and laid on the floor for a bit. I hated mornings. I finally unrolled my self from the quilt and pushed myself up. Outside the window was a gray cloudy day. I hated cloudy days too.

I walked into the Kitchen and looked down on my I.D. beside my coffee mug. The card was torn and stained. 'Jake Mullis' the faded name read. 'Born January 1st, 1984'. I started to make some coffee and… Continue

Farming Zombies, Pt. 6: The End

I think it's been 3 months now... but we have no way to keep track so...

Setting up a decent barricade didn't take too long. Using basic limbs, stones and mud we were able to build a 5 ft. wall, about 20 feet across both sides. I dug a fire pit in the middle and placed large dead tree stumps around it for seats. We got firewood by climbing over the wall using the makeshift ladder made out of more limbs. We found whatever we could find that would burn; mostly dead crops. The fire… Continue

Farming Zombies, Pt. 5: The Campion Virus

We lived in leisure for days at Wal-Mart, eating real food cooked over a camping stove, and sleeping on sleeping bags laid over anything soft we could find. We were lucky that Springfield was such a small town, or else the zombies would overpower us. But the occasional one or two zombies weren't enough to break through our barricades made of cheap arcade games and crates of watermelons.

One day Wesley said, "We need to find out what's been happening. Where these zombies are coming… Continue

Farming Zombies, Pt. 4: Savior

Posted on March 21, 2009 at 11:07am 0 Comments

"Oof!!" Wesley tripped over a rock.

It was too dark to see where we were going. We could still hear the screams, closer now. Wesley got up quickly, and we continued.

Suddenly, we saw them. A girl was barely keeping her balance on a rock sticking out of a pile of them. She was just above 10 zombies, all reaching their hands up toward. She screamed again when one their hands touched her shoe.

Wesley and I hesitated; there were 10 zombies. And we were still afraid… Continue
