- About Me...
- I was deployed in early November 2007 with my team to eastern California near the Nevada border in an attempt to slow the infected advance, giving the state officials more time to prepare. We were unsuccessful. We lost contact with the other teams and our Command and Control Net. We fought our way back to the coast where we found refuge on a fortified island in the San Francisco bay.

This war is bigger than all of us, almost too big to even understand. A war where winning feels like losing, and losing means you're dead.
I've been to Peru, Columbia, Somalia, Bosnia, Iraq twice, and Afghanistan amongst other places I still can't talk about. Those places were scary. Funny the way things turn out. I had to come home to learn true fear.

I will "celebrate" the third anniversary of the fall of our civilization to the Campion virus by recounting the thoughts going through my mind during our most recent scavenging mission.
I've been to my dad's newest house on several occasions. It never felt like a home. That prefab house was an empty husk, a fitting representation of all that was in his life. I hardly dream of that place and when I do they are never pleasant.

I don't have a lot of time so this will be short. My battle buddy was able to contact his wife. She is safe for the time being. She sought refuge in an abandoned attic and pulled up the ladder. Through some miracle she was able to get her laptop online for a few moments and sent an email out to my battle buddy giving us her sitrep and location.
