I didn’t answer him right away. I must have dozed off. After I had finished writing, I sat down in a corner while Zach paced back and forth. Night had fallen, but the lights were on in the room. I don't know why I'm writing this. I'm as good as dead, really. It's just my boyfriend Zachary and me now, stranded in this hospital room, surrounded by terrible monsters. I can hear them just outside, moaning and howling and shuffling along. I can smell them, too; an overpowering scent of death and decay. I don't know what we're going to do.
