There were a lot of Woo-hoo’s and Yee-ha’s accompanying the gunshots. Some of the fire was automatic too. It was over in about a minute, and then Ship and I heard voices.
“Now this here’s a fine idea. We’d be off the ground and…”
“Jed! Clem’s been bit!”
Wonderful. Yee ha? Jed? Clem? I looked at Ship, and he was already looking at me. My large friend’s laconic nature was emphasized by one mouthed word: Rednecks.
I was equally as terse…Continue

It's been a long time since I've updated this damn journal. That's not because I haven't had
things to say, but because I haven't had a chance to say the things I think I need to. A lot has
happened in the months I've been gone, but the world is still just as fucked as it's ever been
though. Who could have guessed?
I did manage to find a friend a few weeks ago while cleaning maggot infested horse meat off
my boots. He's an awesome guy. One that, so far, hasn't…
It's been more than five years ago since my last post. It feels like it's been much longer. A lot has happened between now and then, but I won't bore you with details of my personal life. Straight to the point, there may be changes on my page; some small, others significant. One thing that I hope to accomplish is to add more product reviews as well as expanding on past blog posts. I'm a busy man, so progress will be slow. That's about it. If you like what you see be sure to let me know by…Continue
A tree house. The guy lived in an A-frame tree house with antennas and satellite dishes and solar panels on the side. I mean, who lives in a tree house? Squirrels and giant dudes I guess. We climbed a ladder with a hinge in the center, and he folded it up when we got through his trap door. The place was hardly Spartan, with real windows, running water and power but hand-made furniture. There was a forty two inch flat screen on a birch table and an assortment of DVDs. A…Continue

As I reached for him, he jumped just enough to grab my hand. I pulled with all of my strength and he landed next to me on the stairs. We ran upstairs and into the room where Cody and I had been shooting from. As we closed the door, Cody realized what had happened.
We put the barricade in place and got into positions to fight once the barricade was broken. We refilled some pistol magazines and laid them out for easy access. That's when Drew spoke up.
"You guys should get out of…Continue

We broke into a store on the corner of the square. Cody and I took the top floor while John and Drew took the bottom floor with their shotguns. As the zombies started walking around the corner, Cody and I began taking pot-shots. Thankfully they were only 50 meters away and slow moving, so they weren't hard to hit.
We were dropping them pretty steadily, but we couldn't get them all. They kept getting closer and closer until they were finally at the door. There were still 150…Continue

There is a special bond that develops between men who have spent time fighting and dodging death together. It is commonly seen in the military as well as police departments. The same holds for me after the military and police were overrun.
We had a small band of four survivors: John, Drew, Cody, and myself. Cody and I had been together ever since I had to put down my own wife. We found John and Drew camped out in a farm house. After spending a few days together, we decided we should…Continue

Now I know you’ve been wondering why I’ve brought up the Runners twice previously, but only in a sort of an aside. They have been surreptitiously absent from this gripping tale. That’s because Runners are different. Some people use the word “zombie” for the dead folks that have taken over, but that term is incorrect. Look up your Hatian voodoo.
I’m going to call them zombies from here on out too, even though the term is crap.
Runners are as different from…Continue
By nightfall, the heat of the day had been replaced with a biting wind. I had decided that I would slog into the woods and end it in a pretty place if I had the stones. It had gotten cold fast though, and I had a fever. Have you ever had a fever and been subjected to cold? You might not remember what it’s like if it’s been a while. It sucks. I needed a place to crash pretty quick, and a beat up old silver airstream trailer about a mile into the woods looked damned…Continue
I still haven’t found out why some of them can run, or can’t, depending on how you look at it. The Runners are still alive, the slow ones aren’t. That’s all I know. That’s all anyone knows. Except they’re fast. Everybody knows that.
Did I mention that I waved as the convoy pulled away, leaving me to die, quite literally, in the middle of the road? Nobody waved back.
So with gun in hand, I followed the convoy at a modest…Continue
There’s still a government. I don’t think this, or believe this, I know this.
I know this because they want me. They want me badly. I didn’t kill anyone of great importance. I don’t possess nuclear launch codes or have a stocked underwater base. I haven’t come up with a cure or a vaccine.
They don’t want me because of who I am. They want me because of what I am.
I am the…Continue
Now i lay me down to sleep,
i pray the Lord my soul to reap.
That i should die before i wake,
I pray, dear God, my soul soon take.
But if i turn to midnight snack,
i pray for strength to long fight back;
to not become an undead drone
and ever make the wretched moan.
So if i shan't find rest this night,
I pray for strength in endless fight.
But if I'm torn limb from limb,
I take peace in joining…Continue

"What do you miss?" she asked me one night out of the blue.
"Yes. If you could pick one thing that you could have right now, what would it be?" I thought about that for about two seconds before blurting out that I wanted pizza. Kira sighed.
"Okay fine. What about you? What is this deep and philosophical thing you miss?" She really annoyed me sometimes with how high and mighty she acted. Like she was so above me somehow.
Me and another guy, Kyle. We were in the Lobby of a Hospital waiting for for Susan with the car. But, suddenly, we saw Susan and a man we had never met before come running into the Hospital. "Whats wrong?" Kyle asked.
"We have to run, we have to run now" The man yelled. We followed him and Susan, it was just like Left 4 Dead. As I looked behind me, fear struck throughout my entire body. Hundreds of Zombies were on our tail, "C'mon in here" The man shouted holding a door to the…Continue

My mother , my brothers , my girlfriend. All dead. I killed them. Zombies. They are soulless killing machines.
No mercy , no love, just hunger(No different to me really). When the outbreak hit i had a brief plan(i think we all did, right?) take the essentials upstairs then destroy the staircase. Familiar? yes, but it worked. for a little while anyways , until we went on a supply run and i was the only survivor. You know the moment you look around you and acknowledge what is happening…Continue

We've all had the Feeling, when one of our friends dies, it sucks doesn't it? I remember, the first person we lost was my buddy Christian. He was a cool guy, it the Zombies never took over, we never would have met. But, afterwards, we did become friends, two teenage boys just trying to fit in with a group of adults. Well, in December he and I were in the woods with a woman named Jackie. We were just killing zombies, clearing the area. We thought we had finished; we were wrong. "That's the…Continue

It was another crazy weather day in Texas.
The alarm on the Huawei cell phone, with the recently cracked screen lay on the little table next to the bed. It vibrated and lit up as the ringtone from Nickelback played as loud as it could go. The first alarm rang out playing the full song, then the screen flashed 5 mins. He rolled over and looked towards the phone,he reached for it and slide the unlock button to turn the alarm off before it began the loud tone again.
