The Road to Resolutions.

The Road to Resolutions.

The sky overhead darkened, the ominous clouds gathering overhead only helping the sense of depression and helplessness that had so recently begun to cling to the occupants of the suburban that rocketed down the road.

He had only been driving for about half an hour since they had left town, and already Joseph could feel the nagging sense of doubt building in the pit of his stomach. Right before their departure from the police… Continue

Day 1: Z-Day; Part 11

Seeing the group of people coming towards us scared me for the first time since everything started. We still had to get the kids in the car and the people were already more then half way to us and they were moving fast. For a second I couldn’t think of what to do, I was rooted to the spot where I stood wondering if we were gonna have enough time to get them loaded and moving before the mob got there. I finally collected myself enough to tell Shannon and Jeff to hurry. I was heading back up the… Continue

Chapter 4

I sat shivering in the bed for a few moments, like a child, afraid to

come out from the covers. I had to be dreaming. I thought that if maybe

I just closed my eyes for a few minutes and opened them again, things

would be fine. I would wake up, it would be a new day, and everything

would be okay again. Damn, I thought. This is ridiculous.

I got out of bed, feeling the cool floor beneath my feet. The cold sweat and the

chill was getting to me. I slowly snuck to… Continue

5. the falls plan.

We had a pretty successful “scavenger hunt” today. We found some canned mangos and apricots, plus a whole, unopened container of beef jerky! Apparently the last people through town didn’t like the fruit, and the jerky canister had rolled under a shelf and was missed! Lucky us. I should buy a lottery ticket… Jim and Mildred are very nice people. Jim is a retired police officer (30 years on the streets) and Mildred was a stay-at-home-mom. They only had one child, a son, who lives in California… Continue

Deployment: Part 1

No one spoke much as we stood in the dusty field just off the air base, not that we could have heard each other anyway. They had been shipping stuff in for the last twelve hours, none stop, mostly medical supplies, food, bottled water, body bags. Needless to say the cargo planes made a hell of a noise. It did not come as a huge surprise to see the body bags, but it woke me up to how bad things were getting out there.

None of us knew exactly what was going on. Two theories seemed to… Continue

A question without an answer

Mustafa Ceric during press conference (shot taken from national TV)

I was a journalist. To be honest, I am STILL a journalist, but right now, without a job. A real paid job. If someone lives for the job, you just can't kill instinct inside of man. You just can't rip it out and behave like nothing's missing. It's part of you forever.

Right now, my safe-house is my radio station. That's where I was working before Super… Continue

Second Coming

“God has decided no man is worthy of the rapture. We are sinners and as such, must be judged. Give yourself to the Lord, that he may grant you life everlasting.”

“Jesus Christ was crucified, died and was resurrected to perform the work of his father. Our Lord now calls upon us to do the same, to allow him to use our earthly bodies as tools of his judgment, to allow him to take our souls to heaven.”

The congregation hung on his every word. Father Garrett stood in front of… Continue

Hygiene...and how it's done in Sarajevo

(picture showing Sarajevo's smog which is a direct result of using IC)

A problem occured after some time in Sarajevo. The same problem that occured in other cities around the globe. Dead flesh. As we all know, catastrophy that strucked us down brought also numerous corpses that were lying down anywhere where they ended their miserable life (or life after death).

Where there is flesh, there are also bunch of bacterias, and… Continue

The realization.

I've had some time to separate my old life from the way things are now, and I thought, while it's a bit quiet and the others are resting, I'd put some thoughts down. Maybe it will be useful someday. Providing anyone lives long enough to read it. I really don't know what to say. It all still seems a bit surreal, yet it's almost like the past is wiped out and this new "life" is all we know.

I guess I should start simply. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my Father. Prepare to die.… Continue
