I know its wrong but why does it feel so right?

Im not going to lie, I never liked people. I avoid crowds, enjoy seclusion and never came across too many "good" people. I have never been one to harm another person but when it became a necesity I have to admit that I loved it. Being able to finally release my aggression towards society has in many ways made my life better. Just being able to take the life of these evil abominations was not what fueled my pleasure, the real reason I enjoy their extermination is because there is no guilt,… Continue

Summer time

Things have been calm the past couple of weeks. We have built a few cabins, preparing for winters arrival. The zeds are far and few between, and the ones we see are looking to be in bad shape. All rotted and falling apart, we still dispatch them as we have always done. We still dont venture towards the city, dont want to risk it. Everyone is doing ok, although Im worried about another winter, if its anything like the first winter we had we might not make it, that is if we dont venture to the… Continue

Well, my name is Paul Spencer. Don’t ‘member much about the beginning, just people started getting’ sick, catching that, “super-flu” or whatever they called it. Wasn’t no different than any other “bug” goin’ round, had the same symptoms of a common cold. That’s what spread it so quickly, if anyone was sick, they’d go into the hospital thinking they had the super-flu but didn’t, but by the time they left the hospital they had caught it from… Continue

FALLEN PART THIRTYSIX

PART THIRTYSIX

I woke up and thought, “Wow, I’m nice and warm.” That’s what I felt at the time. I was rolled up in my bed roll on the floor of the TAC room in familiar surroundings. I lay there awake for quite a while. I drank some more water and ate what was left from the MRE. I had slid off the sweats from the bus some time during the night. There was nothing I needed inside the house at this point. I should start north again. I might be able to find a working vehicle. I could be… Continue

the turning point

It’s been a few years since it all hit the fan. I had been very careful not to get bit all this time and I made one stupid mistake and it landed me in this empty room with a pistol and one round. They didn’t leave the pistol thinking I would actually use it, just in case I might make it easier on them, but I won’t. It’s been about an hour since I was first bitten and the burning from the wound is starting to move up my arm. None of us really know what happens after you get bit other than you… Continue

Police Report

SOURCE OF ACTIVITY

On Thursday, August 12, 2008, at approximately 2351 hours, I was dispatched to 2100 Rancho California Royal Apartments Apt. #22 in reference to a domestic disturbance. Dispatch informed me that a Woman reported hearing Screams in the Apartment next to hers.

OBSERVATION

Upon arrival, I knocked on the door, at which time I heard screams coming from the back side of the building. Upon reaching the back side of the building I witnessed a white male attacking… Continue

A living heart Pt 1

The first time Bo cried, Jenna experienced the kind of joy and happiness one rarely has an opportunity to feel. His little cries as he was pulled out and slapped made her feel so proud, one of the best things that has ever happened to Jenna.

The doctor covered Bo in a small towel and he was whisked away by a very tall female nurse. The doctor talked to her about something she couldnt quite hear, she was no tired and her mind could… Continue

Southern Surivivor Part 15

The foursome traveled along a slowly decaying highway, there were a few wrecked and abandoned cars in the road but they were easily avoided by the group. They were around forty miles from the new government but they really weren’t in a hurry. No one said anything out loud but none of the four trusted this so called new government. Joe sat silently in the passenger, watching the countryside go bye. They would probably rather take our guns and force us to work for them than help us in this new… Continue

ZOMBIE ANTS

LiveScience.com livescience Staff

livescience.com – Wed Aug 12, 9:27 am ET

In a bizarre parasitic death sentence, a fungus turns carpenter ants into the walking dead and gets them to die in a spot that's perfect for the fungus to grow and reproduce.

Scientists have no clue how the fungus takes control of the brains of ants so effectively. But a new study in the September issue of the American Naturalist reveals an incredible set of strategies that… Continue

Breakfast of Champions

She lay asleep, warm in her bed. The quiet, cold winter was kept at bay just outside her window. She was startled awake by her stairs creaking. Someone was walking up the staircase to her room. Glancing at the clock to check the time, she realized the power had gone out then back on,based on the flashing "12:03" she saw.

Slipping silently out of her cozy bed and comforter, she slipped on a jacket and walked slowly to her door to meet her visitor.

As usual, her mind began to… Continue

Too Close, Too Far Part 2

I try to take the trowel but it’s wedged too deep in the skull. All the while the others are stumbling down our cul-de-sac. One big pull on the trowel snaps the wooden handle off. I fall back into the gate. Out of breath I try to take stock. A crowbar is protruding from under the fence. Shit I thought I’d lost that weeks ago. I pick it up. It feels good, strong, and weighty. A dead weight one might say I think and grin. A distant scream sobers me up, and now I have the problem of getting back… Continue

May 2008 - "Are you sure?"

That was the question on everyone’s mind when Hubert suggested it was time for a town run.

Winter had kept us industrious, yet pretty cloistered, spending every waking moment on patrol or fortifying Madonna Hill. Now that Spring was in the air, we all had a horrible case of “cabin fever” and we were wearing thin on each other's nerves.

I was up for the trip, no matter who or what was out there.

After Vegas fell, the changes in the Valley were immediate. Everyone… Continue

Chapter One Left Alone Part One of The Apocalypse Asylem in my Head

After killing the parasite, I cried myself to sleep. Not only had I lost both of my parents, my dog, and most of my friends, but now I was alone, in the middle of a forest, in the middle of nowhere. I awoke in the morning, tears dried on my face, the fire smouldering, and Audrey’s body still laying by my side. I had only the strength to dig a hole, and lay Audrey to rest. After doing so, I decided to leave the camp site and keep moving thought the forest, in hopes of reaching more survivors. I… Continue

Chapter 15: The Cavalry

Walking back quietly into the restroom, I try not to wake Noralli as she lies peacefully asleep. We ran out of food so I went back into the store to get some drinks and jerky; night was the safest time of the day to go sneaking about in the store. I contently eat a stick of spicy turkey jerky and then pass out with my tired feet pressing up against the cold, tile wall. After what seemed like a few well-needed hours of sleep, I awaken to a thin line of sunshine beaming in through the cracked… Continue

The Panic Day 1

We had all heard seen the movies and read the books and we accepted it as fiction, I myself did not believe that the dead were rising until that day. God it feels like it was just yesterday.

It was the seventh of November and I was in my apartment trying to put the final touches on my new book "When the Dead Walk, How and Why they Can't", yeah I know. Well I had heard on the news that the infection had hit Las Vegas almost a week ago, but like most people I didn't believe it and just kept… Continue

Portland is Overrun

The death of Killa at the hands of Bruin has set me back, but my power has grown. My most recent raid, and also my first in my second Life Phase, was against Portland. It went something like this...

Its early morning outside of a small section of Portland, Oregon. The particular part of the city I had set my eyes one had been cut off from the rest of the city, making reinforcments from other humans a near impossibility. What was once a peacefull city has become a concrete… Continue

The on going struggle (short story)

On the out skirts of town the air was crisp. The morning light seemed to defy

the mood of the world. Houses lay silent as if no one ever lived there, no steam

from there tops, no noise from the desolate buildings. Noisily the groans of the

un-dead filled the air with fear, as birds took off at the morbid sound. Blood

spattered walls acted as a signal as if it spelt “it happened here too”. There

was little sign of resistance. Make shift weapons lie down with their… Continue
