Abandoned

To me its clear that whatever disease was spreading manifested itself fully on Monday. I know it spreads through fluid transfers, or at least blood. Bites too. Redundant. Fine, whatever. Was this airborne? Was I immune? Or had I just not gotten bit? Or do I have it and not know it yet?

I wonder what the hell happened to so many people. Like my parents. Like my wife and kids. Like my co-workers. One of them was on the road to Marshalltown that day. The other had a conference call from… Continue

September 29th, 2008

The green interstate sign for exit 179B loomed overhead almost exactly as I came to. Ben had insisted on driving during the night, claiming that the day gave me a greater handle on things which was true enough I guess. See in the day time, you never accidentally drive into a festering swarm of them around a corner. You can keep your bearings and it's pretty smooth sailing. How exactly it is that Ben could drive for miles at night with no headlights is one of life's greatest mysteries. I sat my… Continue

The Fallen World: Part 1 - Rise of The Dead

Introduction:

The Fallen World is my account as a survivor of the most horrific event in all of history. When the undead rise from victims of a plague and utterly destroy society and throwing the delicate balance of world order down into complete chaos. What I say in this series of biographies is true, they just haven't happened yet. So enjoy and comment, any suggestions for next week's chapter is welcome.

The glow of the TV projects it's… Continue

The Hollow: 9-16-08, Bad Situation

Hello there, whoever you may be. I'm not quite sure why I'm writing this document at the moment. Perhaps its just to occupy my time, or it could just be something I'm using to calm my nerves. Regardless, this is being written post-outbreak, and when I say this I mean, well, Zombie outbreak. Now I'm sure that may sound a little far fetch, or it may not. I'm not sure if will have spread as much as I think it will. But yes, Zombies none the less. At the moment I am currently hiding/hunkered up in… Continue

Merrick Journal entries for Pre- Outbreak

I can remember it all like it was yesterday; the sweat on my neck, the adrenaline pulsing thru my veins and the sounds of the car door being ripped off and Mike being pulled out screaming, gurgling, by his throat. I can’t describe to you in actual words the feelings, noises, and sights I had during and after that experience. So I won’t try.

The day the outbreak hit Reno was a day where my world was flipped upside down, thrown in a margarita mixer and shaken around with vodka. I swear I am… Continue

My own worst enemy....Part 2

Day 2 Oct 2, 2007

My room is slowly becoming my own cell; I keep hearing banging and moans from down the hall. I tried to get the internet to work, but nothing. The network wasn’t working at all, luckily the TV worked but I only received one channel. It was a weird foreign channel that vie never seen before from Italy. All of it was in Italian, couldn't understand a thing. Although I did understand the gist of it when they tried talking about what "those" things were.

The… Continue

My own worst enemy

(Prologue) This is the story of a man lost in large scale zombie outbreak that took place in providence, Rhode Island, USA. From Oct to May, of 2007 to 2008.

Day 1, Oct 1, 2007.

I'm trapped, completely trapped. Currently I am a student living a dorm, which I was trapped into. A junior, that got shafted because a mistake in a useless broken system. Forced to live in a nuns closet, yes I said it a nun’s broom closet. (During that time there was a mix-up in the housing… Continue

The fall Days Continued

The wall started to topple. As if a slow motion way over dramatic movie, it didn’t feel real tho I almost couldn’t believe it. For the first time in my life was thinking really could I die from this experience? I have done many a crazy thing that I’ve almost died but this time I had less control in. The wall slowly came down with the sounds of cracking bones and liquid splattering from the sides of the wall.

An eerie sky crept above me, clouds of strange darkness as in the beginning of the… Continue

Day 38 Part 2

I was for lack of a better word rather screwed. Stuck between a tall prison where I escaped from to a cruel ground filled with 25 zeds all hungry and ready to consume my flesh. So was this really my chance or was it a huge mistake? How was I going to get by 25 hungry undead friends of mine? When I started to walk away from the wall I was spotted, four of them started heading towards me moaning to signal the others. I realized more of them in the distance. More of them were heading down the… Continue

Ratifying Ray

Wow... well... where to begin. It's a little hard to type this while listening to that girl scream. Angela... I love you... but people from Riverside are starting to notice. More and more zombies are finding their way into the front gates. I have to get that girl to shut up. I'm currently working up the courage to get over there and get our heads together.

As for now, I have to get this out of me.

Yesterday started out a little awkward. I woke up to James in the bed with… Continue

Just the beginning...

It’s not like I imagined it. When I saw movies, it was easy to think about stomping around the apocalyptic landscape with a big ol’ gun, in make-shift homemade armor, maybe with a canine companion. Surviving, scavenging, helping others that needed help before I made my way to where ever I was heading. I always imagined myself cautious but fearless. It’s not like that at all…

I guess I was in denial, or maybe just too dumb to realize at first. It wasn’t until the National Guard arrived that… Continue

Stuck.

I'd stay off the highways. It's not bad enough that everyone and their mother is trying to get the fuck out of dodge, most of them have succumb to the affliction in the process. Zombie infested parking lots. No chance of getting through them at all.

It's hard to say what else is near the barricade that hasn't already been looted. I haven't gotten much info from anyone who's come inside lately. I think most of them are still too shaken up from what's been going on to even think… Continue

Remember that ugly dog thing from my last blog?

We just got hit by one at the parking lot on the south side of the mall. I'm bringing it back to the barricade for an autopsy to find out what the fuck it is, but it didn't make things easy for us.

Fucker took down that Mike guy from Alaska before I was able to take it out though. Poor bastard was just on vacation. He told me that the day before everything went wrong, he finally managed to stand up on the surfboard without falling right over. "I should have spent the summer… Continue

New species?

What the hell...

I stumbled across two of these things tearing apart a zombie. Not even live flesh, and these things were having a feast. I'd say these could be man's new best friend, but they left the walking corpse alone as soon as they saw me. I unloaded a few shotgun rounds into them both. This one wasn't too badly damaged, so I managed to get a decent pic. They… Continue

Zombies in the Bible

Ezekiel and His Zombie Army

Ezekiel 37: 1-14

1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?"

I said, "O Sovereign LORD, you alone know."

4 Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones… Continue

The neuromodulator serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) has been associated with impulsive violence

To define the contribution of 5-HT receptor subtypes to behavior, mutant mice lacking the 5-HT1B receptor were generated by homologous recombination. These mice did not exhibit any obvious developmental or behavioral defects. However, the hyperlocomotor effect of the 5-HT1A/1B agonist RU24969 was absent in mutant mice, indicating that this effect is mediated by 5-HT1B receptors. Moreover, when confronted with an intruder, mutant mice attacked the intruder faster and more intensely than did… Continue

"Right now, we can easily bring animals back from two hours of absolute clinical death," says Hal Sternberg, BioTime's VP of research. "No pulse, no respiration, no measurable brain activity."

BioTime? "the leaders in life-extention Science."

Since 1992, BioTime has been testing Hextend in baboons, pigs, and dogs, replacing their entire blood supply and then cooling them to 35 degrees. At that point, vital signs cease. Bleeding virtually stops. Oxygen-hungry tissues go on a diet. Then technicians raise the body temperature, reintroduce the blood, and shock the heart to life.

A decision

I've been here in my bedroom for the last three days, mostly curled up on my bed, pondering a question posed to me on my page by Danny Bones: "Are you a victim, or a warrior?"

I thought at first they might go away, and I could just walk out, but they're still there, clawing and moaning outside my door. They're relentless.

I ate my last M&M last night - I made them last as my only sustenance for over three days - and I feel so weak with hunger and despair now, so ready… Continue

The Outbreak - help needed PLEASE

Yesterday, I was a husband and father. Until an outbreak in my town, when those undead fuckers came into my garden. My wife and I didn't even hear them - we were in the lounge watching a movie, when we heard the kids come into the house moaning. We went out to see what was wrong, and... Jesus, I can barely write this.. there were my two children (who were... are... 3 and 11) covered in blood and lurching towards us. The fucking zombies had bitten them and they'd both turned. Half of my eldest… Continue
