It has been two days since the runner killed Bobby. The houses that we searched on W North Street in Pontiac, Illinois yielded some crackers and expired soup, which I ate since Henry was old and Maria was the woman of the group. One of the houses actually had a baseball bat and and Colt .45 pistol without any ammo. We are finally out of fuel just outside of Pontiac, Illinois. Henry, Maria, Bobby, and I have been practically starved to death this week, only finding the occasional stash of food inside of an abandoned car. Three times Henry had to shoot down runners that found us while we were searching for food. It took seven of his shells to lay all of the zombies to rest, pushing his total down to eleven shells. It turns out that Henry's truck didn't have as much gas in it as we thought…

I found solace in the storage room of this decrepit chicken farm building. The stench, as unbearable as it was, was no match for the smell of the city I'd left a couple weeks before. Stepping over the thousands of rotting chickens was actually pretty close to the way I left town. The only difference was that I was stepping over friends, family members, neighbors, and other people that never managed to make it out...alive.

Okay so yesterday I said that to kill a zombie, sever the spinal cord or annihalate the brain.

I wasn't kidding. When destroying a zombie...you can't just shoot it in the chest and walk away...hoping it won't get back up. You have to know for sure what's going to keep that zombie on the ground for good.

No zombie’s this morning; there was news though about that every containment camp is unguarded and that a big part of these have now been breached.  I myself have had no contact with zombies at all, at least not after the Douma’s past through a few nights back. So far I’m lucky cause should they show up, I’d not stand a chance against even one.

I made my first video last night. I felt it was time to share my story with others as in person as I could get. Its no where near complete, but its a start, a start to what I hope many videos to come.

I keep myself pretty protected, there is a little sense of order in my city. A sense of community among the living. A sense that we WILL prevail over this epidemic, pandemic, universaldemic as I sometimes call it. I have not really spoken much since I found out my roommates were un-dead…
