I was awoken by my own father busts through my door bellowing a deep blood throated growl that was very foreign to his person. I quickly rolled off of my bed as he threw himself at me and I ran out of my room and slammed the door behind me assuming the worst. I found my mother lying hanging out of a door way but she was barely recognizable she growled and hissed at me as I stepped around her torso. I looked through the door and realized that a torso is all she was now.... just a growling…

I walk down the street, trying to make sense of the world, or what is left of it. Humanity is an endangered species. The zombies have evolved. Humans are now only 1.5 million in number. And that number is shrinking fast.
This has become a routine to me, walking down the middle of the street. It is the smartest way to travel-they can see you, but at least you can see them, too. The zombies have learned to talk to one another-in short, gutteral moans. These moans mean one of…

My story starts back in 07 just like most of yours....my friends and i were running a bootleg radio station from our house. This worked for us and became our hobby during the 06-07 year span. Then when the world started going to hell we really had something to talk about on our little radio show. So in a shameless way.. we enjoyed it, we were getting callers and more listeners than most local radio shows. So who would complain right?
Well when it finally hit our bootleg station in…

since my last post we have collected enough supplies to actually permit us to create a mobile town to help other survivors stranded in swarmed towns we are planing on an entire us tour to try and rebuild towns since our entire city is tapped for supplies with all the survivors we have now in order, to keep the town populated we have to separate the group 75% leaves while 25% stays to keep the city. the majority has began repairing and refitting cars and trucks to use the motion of the spinning…

The sun was beginning to set, casting an eerie orange glow over the fields before us. I was sitting in the passenger seat of the parked police cruiser, trying to keep a phone signal. Finally, I caught reception and dialed Lorenzo's number. It did not ring; it went straight to his voicemail. I bit my lip and hung up, dialing Leo's number next. It rang twice, and my stiff back loosened a bit as Leo answered.
"Are you guys alright?" he asked immediately.
"We're fine, parked a…

Leadership is a funny thing. When you find yourself in a group, and you suddenly realize this group relies on your voice for guidance, your voice seems to get a lot quieter-- especially when the group is full of people you know. My stiff, slightly shaking body seemed so fragile at that moment. I realized I had somehow ascended to leader of the group, and as an innumerable horde of zombies beat down the doors all around my group of terrified and unprepared friends, I was suddenly unsure if that…

The drive to my house was uneventful, but chilling at the same time. It was getting closer and closer to sundown. The time was a little after three in the afternoon, and the streets were no longer empty. There were individual zombies wandering about harmlessly along the streets and even in the roads. Leo did his best to avoid them as we drove back through Joliet towards my apartment.
My entire neighborhood was overrun. I could not imagine how some of my neighbors would have reacted…

As we sprinted past tree after tree, I could see through the foliage into the dead cornfield to my left side. The idea of running through a forest beside a cornfield, fleeing from zombies nonetheless, felt so cliché that I once again felt the need to stop and give myself a reality check. Ryan passed me before stopping and turning toward me with a curious expression.
“This is unreal,” I commented with a trembling sigh.
“Unreal or not, it’s happening. Come…

We were expecting the worst. Once we got to Statesville, we rushed into the ‘big hall’ room and sealed the doors. The catwalk that went over the middle of the room had only a few doors, and we used rebar we found on the way to bar the doors with. The higher ground should protect us from the weaker zombies, and the barricades would help to keep us from getting surrounded. My only worry was the memory I had of the zombies that smashed my car; they were able to jump fifteen feet in one leap.…

“Are you okay? We’re still at John’s. Dana got hurt, but John says she’ll be okay.”
The text message was the first I had heard from Heather in hours. As I took the back seat of Leo’s car, I quickly sent a reply.
“We’re fine. Me, Ryan, and Leo just got supplies from my house. I love you and I’m praying for you. Please send John’s address ASAP.”
I assumed they were probably pretty busy, so I did not expect an immediate reply. My phone was already in…

The streets were empty around me. That could have been attributed to the fact that it was early morning on Thanksgiving Day, but I assumed that it was because impending doom was so close for so many. It was not so naïve to think that I was the only one to experience the outburst in my apartment. There would be others who had been attacked around the same time. Of course, if other people were attacked, and were less capable of defending themselves, then that would mean more zombies in unexpected…

It was sunrise now, on Thanksgiving Day. I smiled coyly to myself as I wrapped covered my hands with my fingerless gloves. Of all the random things I thought I could encounter in life, spending Thanksgiving Day fighting zombies was never one of them. I had considered ninjas before, but never zombies. In truth, I was unreasonable unsatisfied with my state of preparation. I always preferred to be prepared for the very worst, the most unexpected. But this particular event was more than just…

[This is a written account of the Chicagoland zombie outbreak that became uncontrollable on November 24th, 2008, from the perspective of Nathan Strickland.]
My Own Zombie Apocalypse
I had just gotten home to my hazardously messy apartment from a long, boring day at work. I was excited for no particular reason, and just wanted to sit down and write. So, after I changed into my normal clothes, that is exactly what I did. I slumped down onto my couch and opened…

The following account was found near an overturned pick-up truck with the driver and passenger nowhere in sight.
Dec 05, 2008
Joey's now one of them, I tried and tried to get him to safety but he was lost in the swarm. Those god-damn monsters. Me and Simon found a Pick-Up earlier and we're in it now heading for the one place we know is safe, Raskind Hospital. The military's gathering people up there and have choppers so when we get there we're leaving for a military base.…

The night before was as normal as every other night, spent some time with my boyfriend and best friend; playing a couple rounds of Call of Duty, the morning after on the other hand was not as
normal...
I'm not much of a light sleeper but loud moaning coming from my stairs tends to wake me up. I figured it was my mom coming up to work in my unfinished bedroom, but when i called out to her i didn't get a reply. I rolled my eyes and figured it was my mom being deaf and not able…
