Surviving 8

I’ve been too busy surviving to write. I had to leave the cabin. Those former state trooper bastards were looking, if not exactly for me, for the person who killed some of their people. I had to kill two more of them – in a world that’s falling apart – overrun by those dead fucks, I’m killing other humans. Do we deserve to survive? After I killed these last two, one with an axe, the other with my pistol, I realized they were in radio contact with their pals back in town. I packed up and left…

Surviving 6

I don't know what day it is and I don't care. I've stayed at the cabin for at least the past two months, so it may be February. It's been a while since I posted because I've been just staying alive. Some really messed up shit had me messed up for a while. I've been scavenging the area and I've seen signs of others. I've returned to the gas station three times - the first time I had to kill four zombies. They were all in bad shape, a lot of them eaten away, so I was able to do it silently,…

Zombies in New York - Dorm Talk

"They're no big deal."

"Okay..."

"They're slow. Just keep your pace up."

"..."

"Look, dude, I'm a junior this year. I got a girlfriend. I'm gonna need the room sometimes."

"So what do you do if they catch you?"

"You don't let them catch you. It's very simple. One of them comes towards you, walk away. They're slow, like I keep saying."

"Yeah, but if they catch you while you're not looking..."

"(sigh) You don't let them catch you. Look,…

Tunnel Vision - Subways and the Zombie Apocalypse

I'm a subway train engineer on the R line. Been on the R since it was the RR, and that's thirty years now. I was in my two year countdown towards retirement when the zombies started popping up. Now I'll never retire. They'll have to pull the lever from my death-stiff fingers to get me out of this cab.

It's not the pension I lost. Now that the city is broke dealing with the Z's, and we ain't getting any help from FEMA since DC got overrun, all of us city employees have been well and…

Worms in the Big Apple

In New York, we had the zombie problem down!

Truth to tell, we felt bad for all you suburban/rural folks. You're so spread out, it's difficult to get a handle on things. In Levittown, PA, we heard that a zombie attacked the power plant, and the power went out during the struggle. Everyone went outside to see what was going on, and wham! No more Levittown.

In NYC, word spread pretty quickly what we were up against. If zombies attacked a high rise or the projects, they didn't get…

Zombies? Fuggedaboudit!

An Oral History of the Zombie Apocalypse from a New Yorker

"Hey. I'm not saying it weren't weird, right? We New Yorkers, we put up with a lot-- crime, garbage strikes, fuckin' 9-11-- but zombies were something else again. Right? Like who am I talkin' to?

"First mention of 'em in the New York Post, I hardly noticed. That fuckin' rag's been saying the world is ending since Clinton got elected, and after awhile, you tune out. But then, I saw one of 'em myself. I remember, it was a…

Intercepted Transmission from Greenbrier, WV

As you know, I am a survivor living in Northern West Virginia. Greenbrier, a military bunker built during the Cold War, is not far from where I am holding out.

I turned on my CP radio this morning and recieved a strange and frantic brodcast from Greenbrier. Could this mean that the government is still intact? If they are, why do they refuse to help us survivors?

Here's the transcript of the…

Endless Night: Day Eight, Part Three (Alli Hohshen)

Alli was dumbfounded. The infected were barreling towards her one minute, and were quite literally gone the next. Alli looked around over and over. Artemis pulled out his pistol. "I got a bad feeling about this. C'mon, let's salvage what we can." Alli followed Artemis over to a decaying old yellow house. The paint was peeling all over, like tree bark. Alli kicked down the door. No more hiding from the infected. They had killed too many people she knew. She looked around the dusty room. A radio… Continue

Radio Attack

Here I am, in one of those emergency rooms in the electric plant. Lieutenant Peterson wanted me under special care.

I heard the medical staff talk about 3rd degree burns, severed nerves, broken femur, possible infection.

I didn't care, they gave me the laptop so I'm good. Plus its been, what, 5 hours from zombie contact. If I were infected, I wouldn't be typing this.

Well since I'm not going to leave this bed for awhile, might as well send you guys a message of my lucky… Continue

So Long Without The Net...

For the last 567 days, I've been without internet. Just got it back. Been thinking so much about what to write here...and...I have no idea.

Since I last wrote, I've...done a lot. My block expansion worked and now, I have the whole block to myself. I haven't seen very many survivors yet, except for Lola. She has the other side of the block and won't budge. Neither of us is doing too great on supplies, but I've tried my best to make sure she and I are both fed.

My weekly… Continue
