I would literally kill you for a decent cup of coffee. And don't get me started on bacon. I miss breakfast food.

It came for him as he was putting the key in the door of his panel van. He had known it was there somewhere watching him sizing him up for its next meal for some minutes now, which was why he was back at the van retrieving his rifle. He almost did not see it until it was too late but then his eyes settled on a reflection in the window and he saw it the shambling man-shaped creature approaching at an… Continue

She stood before me, tattered and bloody. Her sundress was white and torn along the bottom. It was simple, nothing fancy but it suited her well. A large dark red streak ran horizontally across her stomach from the left hip. She was missing the rest of her arm past the elbow. The skin was shredded, obviously gnawed off. Even in this depressing state I found her… Continue

Silence echoed in the naked streets of Brooklyn. The only people in the streets either wore the dark-blue uniform of a police officer or the Advanced Combat Uniform of a United States Army soldier. Occasionally, someone would pull back their curtains and sneak a look at the men patrolling the streets, and… Continue

The rain that started as just a shower turned into a right downpour outside of Maria's restaurant. It pounded passing cars and trucks as the man ran in. Shaking off his jacket, you could tell he wasn't too happy as he muttered expletives under his breath.
"How ya doin' Merv?" one of the waitresses asked freshening up a customers cup with hot coffee.
"How the hell you think Amy," he said looking up at…

Keeney scoffed at his own morbid, poetic turn of mind. He turned away from the home in which he’d lived for almost thirty years, the home he’d built with his own two hands, the home he himself had burned deliberately in the night. Then, still… Continue

11:11 AM The Plan:
After breakfast and an all around good time, despite our situation, we decided that we needed to check for our families, and we needed weaponry, and supplies.
James suggested that chain department store. They’ve got rifles. I knew of a better location, the big sporting goods/hunt outfitter’s store. They’ve got rifles, pistols, ammunition, bows, cross bows, arrows, and beef jerky. What more could you ask for? On the way we need to gather other… Continue
