I went out scavenging for supplies again today. I found a reasonably good haul,with what most people expect to find these days. I found 2 cans of bread,3 cans of beans,a can of peas,along with a case of bottled water and,lucky me, a medicie cabinet full of antibiotics and stichings. I realized that a two story house wouldn't just have these,since these are hospital quality from across town,so I started to search the house again…

I found solace in the storage room of this decrepit chicken farm building. The stench, as unbearable as it was, was no match for the smell of the city I'd left a couple weeks before. Stepping over the thousands of rotting chickens was actually pretty close to the way I left town. The only difference was that I was stepping over friends, family members, neighbors, and other people that never managed to make it out...alive.

The moment the outbreak begins will be a very hectic time. Most people will not know what to do. Neighborhoods will be taken out overnight. People will be breaking in, stealing and killing to get any kind of equipment they think will be necessary for their survival.

Obviously at this point it is too late to prepare. That is why we are here now. The first necessities for preparation are the same as the basic needs for survival. Water and food.
