Artemis woke to a blaring siren. Not an ambulance. A siren that would go off if you were under attack.
Attack.
Artemis bolted out of bed, and apparently Alli had heard it too. They both had slept in their day clothes, so all they had to do was pick up their guns and load them. Artemis slung his shotgun over his back, wiped dirt off his dungaree jacket, and grinned. A battle, for once. A chance to shoot an infected. He kicked the door open, expecting infected to be everywhere.…

If you happen to see an old episode up front, don't worry. I probably found a spelling error, and when you re-publish a blog post, it brings it up front (Don't ask me why, I dunno.). I figured I'd clear that up. And I deeply regret not putting up a new Endless Night sooner, but Day Twelve will be up soon, I promise. Oh, and there will also be a new member of Artemis's group.

I don't think Artemis got a chance to see what I saw, because a body smashed into the windshield, blinding Matt, who swerved the SUV to avoid getting hit, and, needless to say, couldn't see where he was going. The SUV smashed through a crowd of infected, and rammed through a metal fence. Everyone but Artemis had a chance to pile out before being sandwiched. Everyone but him.
What happened next was a blur to me.
Metal-against-metal grinding combined with the sound of an…

(Authors Note: Endless Night Specials are what is happening outside of the events of Artemis and Alli's lives, beyond the survivor colony, etc.)

The man looked from side to side, wondering if the handshake he had given his friend Pat back at camp was worth a damn. He and Pat knew that he wouldn't make it past Central Ave. He looked around, wondering if a shadow inside a building really was a shadow. He gritted his teeth, and several people behind him waited for him to move…

***Author's note: Yes, my friends, Day Nine is finally here! And I bet your all wondering what will become of poor Artemis, well, let's find out.***
~~~
Artemis' subconscious vision was blurred and he saw stars. He struggled to comprehend what was going on. His mind reeled with indescribable pain and confusion. Suddenly, a blinding white shattered the silence that was his subconscious. He saw a hand waving over his face. He tried to lift a hand to defend himself, but found that…
Artemis couldn't register what was going on. He was having one of those "Out of body" experiences everyone talks about. He saw himself, jumping off the roof of the small, yellow house, towards the mob of zombies- a 10 foot drop. He couldn't help but think this was suicide. He saw Alli, determination on her face, shooting all the infected that were coming to the roof. Artemis' body made it safely, and suddenly, he was back in his own body. He could hold off the infected for so long, maybe a…
Artemis whipped around at the sound of many infected down the street. His eyes flew wide with horror of what he saw. There were too many to count, and they filled the street, tripping over each other to get to Artemis and the others. He was frozen. A hand gripped his shoulder, and he jumped. Alli screeched, "Artemis!!! Come on!!!" Andrew went running up the street, and Alli pulled pistols to hold them off. Artemis grabbed her hand, and went running. Artemis stumbled along, Alli in…
Artemis was careful to watch the street with the eyes of a hawk as him and Alli casually strode down it, coming to an intersection. Alli was completely blind to the fact they were being watched, and so was Artemis. Even Artemis' eagle eyes couldn't see the horror that was going to befall them in exactly three seconds. Artemis turned around, whipped out a pistol, and shot. Pulled the trigger for all he could, blasting the zombie that almost took a chunk out of Alli. Alli whipped around as…
Sorry for the delay, but the next chapter in the Endless Night series will be delayed a bit. Sorry! It's just that schoolwork and a trip to Pinkham Notch, NH have distracted me from the writing you all so love! I'll be back to writing soon.
Best wishes,
Everything was a blur.
Ark saw Alli charge, and he tried to cry out to stop her, but the words stuck in his throat like tar does to the ground. Several shots rang out, and suddenly the infected diverted to one struggling figure: Alli. Ark tried his best to shoot them off, but Matt was no where to be seen and neither was Artemis. Suddenly, the buzz of a chainsaw reached Ark's ears. Then he realized that was Matt under all that undead flesh, not Alli.…
(Sorry for falling off the radar for a bit, so here's a little something you've all been waiting for!)
Alli Hohshen was never happy to be slowed down. Especially not in these times. After the first two outbreaks on each coast of the U.S., the situation simply exploded. Marshall law was declared, some virus had escaped from a lab (<== According to Artemis) and the only three things that mattered to Alli?…
As you might have read in Day Six, Part Two, our survivors encounter a chainsaw infected (Sometimes called a chainsaw maniac) and a mob of zombies behind it. This was inspired by a PC game called Nation Red (Get it on Steam!) and in Nation Red, zombies could wield axes, melee weapons, even Ak-47s. While I didn't want to overkill our survivors, I didn't want to just have the same ol' runners and slow-goers and possums. That, my friends, is how the Chainsaw Infected came to be in Endless…
