I take it back, I take it all back. zombies are real. I was hoping that I was dreaming, but no matter how many times I pinch myself the nightmare continues. One of those abominations wandered into town. It wasn't someone that anyone knew, but it managed to bite a couple of people. The people that got bitten were taken to the doctor's office a mile or so outside of town. I hope their ok, but I have a sick feeling that they won't be. So, the military has quarantined off the surrounding areas. I can't get anywhere!!! I tried, but I got turned around by the police who then warned me that they wouldn't be so nice about it the next time. What the heck?!! So far, no one has been infected in my little town, but there just aren't that many people who live here; it's probably just a matter of time. Meantime, the neighbors have cleaned out both the gun stores in town; never thought that I would be grateful for living in a town…

So, there's this rumor going around that there are zombies. Ok, really? I've loved zombie movies since I was a kid, but everyone knows that zombies aren't real!!!! My neighbor said that it is the only explanation for what he saw happening on the coast. I don't know, I just can't really believe there are zombies. On the other hand, I guess it wouldn't hurt to start stocking up. I still have all the supplies I got for preparation for the hurricane. I guess I could get some more water and food…

So, of course the bathrooms didn't have soap, but that wasn't even the worst thing today. Half my students were missing from classes today!! Plus, like a third or more of the faculty were out sick. So many people have called off and so many kids are out that school has been cancelled for tomorrow and most of next week. What the hell is going on? The news has also been showing a lot of "victims of assault" spots the past few days. Guess everyone is so stressed from the virus going on and…

There's this new flu outbreak I keep hearing about. School is still going on, so I guess it can't be too serious. On the other hand, I've been noticing a lot more absences than usual amongst my students. Hope the school manages to keep the bathrooms stocked with soap since during the H1N1 virus scare the bathroom near my classroom didn't have soap. Just one more thing they forgot during their sessions of "what more can we make the teachers do."
