I'm not as far as I wanted to go. I wanted to make it to my father's house. He has guns, knives, and always a freezer and closet full of food. He had been prepared for the apocalypse. What else can this be?
But, I do have something. I found a house, alone by itself out in the country. I'm scared. I don't forget what happened down south, but I have hope. Things here are okay.
The house has two stories. The bottom I have sealed. I think the house has been vacant for some time.… Continue

I can't take this anymore.
Maybe I'll be killed, maybe I won't. I don't know and I don't care. I'm getting out of this place.
I'm packing up what grain I can, doing one last sweep through C-Dale and then heading north where I know some people. I don't know if they are alive, but if anyone could have survived this attack, it's them.
Over and out for now.
I'll try to log in ASAP.
If I don't make it to Madison, then I've been done in.

It's been I don't know how long. I can't find anyone, and Carbondale is not that big of a place. I haven't seen hide or hair of Mike or the others. I wonder if it was a mistake that I left the apartment, but what can you do when the only sane option seems to move? Staying still will drive you crazy.
I'm staying in a silo, a grain silo. The grain is getting tiresome to eat, but it is food, and the silo is easy to defend. I haven't had any creatures I've had to kill here, but there was… Continue

A storm is brewing. I'll have to put off escape until tomorrow. Looks like we're going to get lots of rain, thunder, and lightning. I wonder what that'll do to the undead? I've seen two stumble by since I've broke free.
I am worried about Mike. They left a digital camera on the counter. Why would they do that? Wouldn't they have brought it with them to document?
I think they must have gone out on a supply run and got amubshed. I mourn, but hold out the chance Mike got away.
And I… Continue

I haven't heard anything outside this room for two days and there are no windows to see outside. I haven't eaten. I'm weak. I can't stay here.
The door's hinges are on the inside. I don't have a screwdriver, but I do have the broken edge of a CD case. I'm going to wait for two more hours.
If nothing, then I'm going for it. I can't wait any longer. My chamber pots are full and I am almost disgusted with myself for having to use them; but what else can I do? Even an animal knows… Continue

Feel much better today. They managed to get me an orange and I think that helped a lot. It's been three days and I haven't turned or even looked like I was going to turn. When will they let me out of here? Or maybe they are just looking for someone to blame....
From what I've learned, though, Deb worked in the city hospital downtown. She was first to witness people coming back to life. She had to use scalpels against her attackers to get away. She won't talk about much that she saw,… Continue

They've locked me up. Gave me the laptop cause they said it had my germs, anyway.
I know it's not the airborne virus they think it is. That's been gone for a long time, now. It's just the flu. But they won't believe me.
Deb wanted to kill me. I guess being in the hospital when everything went down convinced her anyone sick should just be shot; it's just too much risk.
Bob and Rick wanted to wait and see. They didn't ask Mike. So they have me locked up in quarantine, in the… Continue

I can't believe how lucky we got. It was almost over.
We had run out of change and were so hungry; we had to break open the vending machine. They heard us.
There was bunch of them at the door, pounding, banging, yelling. We didn't know what to do. There was no way the door was going to hold and the only option was to jump from the second floor to the cement courtyard, where there were more zombies. We could see their bloody pus faces just urging for something to bite.

Will have to find a way to post more later. We made it to the school. Bodies are everywhere. We locked ourselves into a room that has a vending machine and coffeemaker. There was this laptop which I'm making mine.
There are noises outside everywhere. Through the window we can see a courtyard full of the undead.
Please, if anyone is out there, please help. We boarded the door and are keeping quiet, but they could still get in. Please. We're in the University English dept. In a break… Continue

The night passed slowly. There is a double bed which we slept on, but we could barely keep still for all the noises we heard coming from outside. I looked out the window once and saw two of them across the street, moaning. I'm so scared. I don't want to leave the apartment.
There is a generator down in the basement that seems to be running okay for the moment, but if we want to keep it running, we'll have to get gasoline, or find somewhere else to go.
Mike wants to go… Continue

We have a new place, now: a two-story apartment builing with locking back and front doors with windows reinforced by metal mesh. We have selected one aparement for our base. It's closest to a second story window in case of the need for escape. It also has a stock of rice and dried beans.
My boyfriend, Mike, and I, Melissa, had things well under control. We were both at home when the first tidal wave of zombies hit, but, as we live in Southern Illinois, and used to live in a far-out… Continue
