I'm not sure what day it is. It may be just after Thanksgiving. New York City is gone. I've holed up in a small cabin just above the tree line. It used to be a nice area. Pine trees all about. Nothing good to write, just bad. I got out of NYC just in time, it seems. The military is blocking the exits from the city and the flu is breaking out everywhere. The news shows crazy, chaotic views of people being attacked by what the government and the press refuse to say are infected. As soon as I got out of the city, I stopped at a branch of my bank and cleaned it out. What good will money do during Armageddon? I waited for night to fall before I started packing to go. I have some nosey neighbors and I didn't want to have to be bothered with any unnecessary delays. CNN started to have some strange reports from the west coast. I tried to call Ted back, but only got a busy signal. I trashed my phone in case the government had any goons on the way. Surviving.
When this all started... when the news started about the dead rising and attacking the living, I thought it was bullshit. Come on, we've all seen the movies, right? We've all seen the movies, good and bad, so who is going to believe this? Like most of the public, I ignored this. I lived my life.
