The Last Day

Imagine if all of your friends were dead. Sounds like a bad dream, right? Now imagine if in just a matter of hours, you were the only one left alive, and all of your friends that were dead came back, and they came back hungry. For me, this wasn’t a bad dream, but the bleak reality.

I never thought this would be how my life would end. Here I am all alone, barricaded in a high school government classroom. My friends and teachers, well the things that used to be my…

A survivor's Tale - pt. 4

I was about 20 miles north of the smoking remains of Charlotte when I realized I was running low on gas, so I pulled into a gas station just off the campus of Davidson College in Davidson, NC. While I was filling up the tank, I decided I should grab some food and drinks from inside. I topped off the tank, and grabbed my HK from the passenger seat of the Camero.

When I go to the door, I slowly pushed it open and could see the blood on the floor. Then I heard a low moan coming from the back… Continue

A survivor's Tale - pt. 3

What I saw amazed me. Through the scope, I could see my dad on top of the Expedition holding off twenty or more zombies with nothing but two pistols. I realized I had to do something, so I flipped open my phone and called him.

A Survivor's Tale - pt.2

It turned out that the noise was just a tree that was blown over against the side of the Coliseum. Anyways..

We decided to take back roads and steer away from the main horde. About 25 miles down the road we started to run low on gas, so we decided to stop in this little town about 3 miles from the interstate. We pulled up to a CITGO to get gas and stock up on supplies. As we pulled into town, I saw a gun store, so we decided that dad, Ray, and Jack would get gas while me, Stephen,… Continue

A survivor's tale - pt. 1

The day of the first outbreak was a few days after my dad's birthday. Me and my mom had gotten him 2 tickets to the Panthers/Skins game. When we got down there it was like any other Sunday afternoon game. You could smell the hot dogs and burgers cooking, and all over the place you could see people joking around and having fun. The only thing out of place was you could hear distant sirens (Charlotte used to be highly populated, so police sirens and such were a common thing). The day before, we… Continue
