It snowed for two days straight, hard to believe but it did. We've been cooped up since fall, we can't get out, too much snow, we could step right down on a zombie. The Rockies suck for mobility in winter, the compound has plenty of supplies, but we're bored, no patrols to run, no crops to tend, nothing. It was no surprise when one of us inevitably did something stupid, the zombies are frozen so they don't move fast, and the snow makes them stuck in place, but if you step down on one through the snow you're a goner, and that's just what happened. Sallie, a mother of two and a widow as of this fall when her husband was lost during a scavenging mission. She went out and started walking on the snow, she stepped and one of her snowshoes went through, we heard some muffled screams and that was all, she was gone. I felt bad for the two boys she left behind, total orphans, we had to stop the older one from going to try to help his mother, God, it was awful, he heard her screaming, he knew what was happening to her. If we don't get out soon it could be over, for all of us.
