So how much water do you need to add to the gelatin to make it solid enough to work with? And should you add makeup to it when you make it or when you apply it?

Thanks for the input! And yes - Knox food gelatin. It ended up a bit thicker than I wanted but works great! It was like 1/3 cup water to 4 envelopes of gelatin then add food color. I don't think I added enough food coloring last night so still experimenting. But what was REALLY cool was adding oatmeal to the wounds to make it look more "messed up"!

ah i see. well i`d try what they recommend with a test and another one with less and another one with more water, gives you different constituency.
Never Used Gelatin, its Gelatin ( food version?)

I'm not sure what it's called but the make-up people from The Walking Dead said that you add just a small amount of water (1/3 cup or less) to one box gelatin then refrigerate. You can slowly melt it after it congeals to use as wounds. It looked GREAT!!!! I was just wondering how much water to add to exactly how much gelatin.....
