Tie your shoes

This isn’t an interesting zombie’s story of one man who saves everyone from the zombies and finds a cure. No, not in this story, in this story many die and even more get infected. This starts with my one thought as they surrounded me, “I should have tied my shoes.” I had noticed my shoes were untied about 5 minutes before I fell, but I didn’t have the time to tie them. The zombies wouldn’t have noticed me running through the shadows… if I hadn’t of tripped. Zombies are attracted to sound, especially the sound of a human giving a yelp of pain after falling flat on their face from an untied shoe. They were closing in on me now, 5 of them. My hand clenched around my emergency suicide-grenade, hoping it would not have to come to that. One of the damned things was getting awfully close; so-out of habit of dealing with school bullies- I did the least helpful thing you can do to stop a zombie… I kicked him. Quickly realizing what a stupid move that was I used his chest as a launching pad and ran towards “Happy Joe’s Supermarket”.
I went the longer way to have a less chance of the zombies following me. When I got to the door, I pulled on the rope that turns a light on inside. Someone would hopefully see the light and open the door for me. About 3 minutes later Calvin opened the door, he was grim until he saw my face that was bloody and scratched up from my fall. That made him smile. Only pain seemed to make him happy. “Let me guess… tripped over a ladybug?” He said amused.
“Nope,” I replied with an equally large smile, “shoe laces”
“Well now that’s one I haven’t heard before.” He brought me to the room were the last survivors were… for now.
