a nice heavy club hammer (aka the big fuckin' hammer) isn't too bad of a backup weapon to have and it could probably be found in any garage or workshop, but it's a bit heavy for its size.

at my house we have a 22. LR and I bought a katana last saturday at a yard sale. its not very sharp but im sure it'd do the job.

We're gun free, so I'd take all my crap (books I don't read, furniture, etc.) and create a maze outside-- easy to navigate if you're not undead. The braineaters that get through, rubber gloves and my sharpened cleaver. A coat rack to keep the rest at bay while chopping off the leader's head.
