Its a long time since I had a computer which was functional. As a survivor I've done well, I have survived longer than many have anticipated. As for my sanity, prior to speaking to you my defenses served more as a death trap and the change of events; stimulated my degrading sanity and my escape was lucky. By lucky I mean, short notice lucky. At certain blocks, I used to have motion sensors. USED to, since they were powered by a (v battery, the motion sensor was placed within cars, certain key cars that would usually be bumped by zombies or someone trying to get over.
As a smart kid, I raided a number of stores. Kitchen stores, electrical, Harvey norman. I dare say. Each Risk is as dangerous as the next. Zombies however are easier to outsmart than people think. But anyway, back to the surviving part. The motion sensors I had rigged hadn't been serviced, since the batteries usually lasted from 5 - 7 days due to the fact that I occasionally was using second hand batteries. The alarm came from the left side, a rather well pitched beep in a three set burst.
Thinking it was a single zombie. I went to check from the roof of my house, low behold like a tide of rotten flesh, limbs and exposed teeth. Thinking I had enough time, the sound of something crashing through my backyard, noises from further down the street; somehow, 'Zombie Zack' was on the move. Ideally I had no idea what was dragging them to my location, zombies don't have scouts, so what could motivate them to suddenly move. Nearing summer, the actual smell of their arrival was enough to make me ready to bolt. Gathering my camera, a bag and such. I realized that I had literally boxed myself in. No fast escape, no car escape either. No scenario like this had ever been expected.
So. Ideally rather than going out the FRONT or the Back of the house, I went through the window, not through the glass like an action hero. At the same time I was able to climb up and over the fence onto the next roof and the next through using a series of jumps, which mind you the movie's make it easier when your an actor than done when its your own life your trying to preserve. Getting to the third house, landing in the front yard, the muffled noises within and straining glass was enough to let me know that infected also lingered inside the buildings too.
Moving across heading towards a flower farm, a place I rarely went to due to the fact that once your on that footpath you have barbed wire on both sides. So if Zack comes along your really not going to get very far. But then again I chanced it. Now, with a powered EEE asus laptop some canned food I managed to locate a form of travel. Gather enough fuel and leave my town of Brisbane. Long ride. Long drive.
If not for that sensor. I'd be up to my eyeballs in rotten fleshy man eating zombies.
Now Im mobile.
