Warrior

When i was younger,my uncle would talk to me about his experiences in Vietnam with his brother. i will now tel you my uncles stories.

It was the summer of 1970, and my uncle and his brother were fresh out of high school, having nothing to do and feeling particularly antsy to go to war, they enlisted into the marine corp.

In October, they finished their training and were sent to fight in the Vietnam War.

I do not know what unit he was sent to, he died before i could get to ask him.but what i do know, was that he was sent to the "A shau" valley.

My uncle once told me how one of his friends was almost killed.

His friend was on patrol with his platoon, when they were ambushed, they where facing a large amount of the enemy and were forced to flee. A mortar round landed behind him and knocked him down. he was half conscious, and could hear his comrades begging for mercy from the enemy before being executed. He suddenly felt like someone was punching him in the back,he heard *thump thump thump* he promptly passed out. When he came to, it was the afternoon. he got up feeling sore and made his way to his base miles away. When he got there, it turns out that the platoon was wiped out, and he had been gone for two days. he "punching he felt was from a VC stabbing him with his bayonet.miraculously the bayonet missed all of his vital organs and his spine.

This next story is dedicated to my uncle "nacho".

I do not remember his name. My uncle Was in Da Nang during the Tet Offensive. in several hours of fighting he was injured severely. my uncles tell me that the Vc's dragged his brother into a building and shot him to death. May he rest in peace.
