Progressive List of Zombie Movies

Progressive List of Zombie Movies
These are in no particular chronological order as to when I viewed them and the star rating is not based on the level of fear the movie offers. My opinion of the movie will also be listed.

1. Night of the Living Dead (1968) * * * * *
This cult classic is in my opinion one of the scariest, perhaps because the dead look like actual people instead of decaying corpses. "They're coming to get you Barbara."

2. Dawn of the Dead (1978) * * * * *
"When there's no more room in Hell, the dead will walk the earth."

3. Day of the Dead (1985) * * * * *
Bub asks for sympathy and encouragement. He is the highlight of this movie.

4. Land of the Dead (2005) * * * * *
One of my favorites.

5. Dawn of the Dead (2004) * * * * *
It seems like the story of my life.

6. Day of the Dead (2008) * * *
I'm not so much a fan of the fast moving zombie and Bud doesn't ask for
as much sympathy as Bub.

7. 28 Days Later (2002) * * * *
This one did really well up until the end. I found it to be actually pretty scary, it stuck with me for a few days.

8. 28 Weeks Later (2007) * * * *
Better than the first, but I have a hard time accepting fast moving zombies.

9. Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998) * * * * *
A classic Scooby-Doo.

10. Resident Evil (2002) * * * *
More sci-fi than horror, but still a little scary.

11. Army of Darkness (1993) * * *
Shitty to the point of enjoyment.

12. Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) * * * *
More sci-fi than horror, but still a little scary.

13. The Return of the Living Dead (1985) * * *
The beginning of zombies moaning for "Brains." I'm not exactly a fan of
those that just eat brains.

14. Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) * * * *
More sci-fi than horror, but still a little scary.

15. Bio Zombie (1998) * * * *
Japanese Dawn of the Dead. Enjoyable and entertaining.

16. Day of the Dead 2: Contagium (2005) * * *
It was watchable.

17. Zombie (1979) * * * *
Italian zombie movie. It offers no hope for the future and has a very
creepy soundtrack.

18. Zombiez (2004) *
Terrible movie. I couldn't finish watching it, but I doubt that it got better.

19. Flight of the Living Dead (2007) * * *
I enjoyed it, but it's not the best.

20. Night of the Dead (2006) * * *
Cheap but somewhat enjoyable.

21. Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror (1986) * * * *
Italian filmmakers really know how to rot out a corpse. This one offers
no hope.

22. House of the Dead (2003) * *
The only plus is the boat captain, who I can relate to very much. The
captain alone earned this movie one star.

23. Shaun of the Dead (2004) * * * * *
Definitely one of my all time favorite movies. Its funny, romantic, and I
can relate.

24. The Stink of Flesh (2004) * * *
Pretty shitty, but creative.

25. My Dead Girlfriend (2006) * * *
Low budget, but with a few laughs and a twist on the genre.

26. Mulva: Zombie Ass Kicker (2001) * * *
Very low budget with cheap comedy.

27. Die You Zombie Bastards! (2005) *
Another very low budget film. Sounds more entertaining than it is. I was
unable to finish watching the movie, but I'm sure it could only get worse.

28. Fido (2006) * * * * *
A very different twist on the genre. It's an all around great family film.
It is definitely one of the more enjoyable movies that I've seen.

29. Flesh Freaks (2000) * *
A cheaply made movie. I was able to sit through it, but the special effects
were so terrible that it was almost humorous.

30. Night of the Living Dorks (2006) * * * *
Another twist on the genre. This one does not feature a zombocalypse
but I think its worth a watch despite its cheap humor.

31. The Evil Dead (1982) * * * *
I will NEVER forget her eyes!

32. Zombie Nation (2004) * * *
Gotta love women who come back to life for revenge.

33. Zombie Night (2003) * *
The only thing worse than a zombie who calls "Brains" is a zombie who only attacks at night. What the fuck? Why are they afraid of daylight? ZOMBIES DONT HAVE FEAR!

34. House of the Dead 2: All Guts, No Glory (2006) * * *
Sid Haig doesnt even need make-up to look like a zombie. These people overcome literally impossible odds, there's no realism to it. But I've seen worse.

35. Diary of the Dead (2007) * * * * *
This is what I fucking love about George Romero. He never ceases to amaze and bring new light to the zombie genre. He has never faltered to keep the zombies shambling and the social aspects alive. He even repeats a news broadcast taken from Night of the Living Dead!! Listen closely, because it plays in the background.

36. ZA: Zombies Anonymous (2007) * * *
Its like Silence of the Lambs, American History X, Kill Bill, and Pulp Fiction meet George Romero and an extremely different twist to the genre is created. It starts off kinda funny buts ends weirdly, even for this movie. I recommend it only to those that are open minded.

37. Zombie 4: After Death (1988) * *
It takes a lot for me to give a movie one star and this movie really pushes the limit. There's nothing new or exciting in it, but I have seen worse.
