A great day ruined

I knew it would be a great day today.First of all because it was my birthday, second it was friday,and finally because all the work on the seven story building we had started working on in the middle of winter was done.Damn designers kept changing plans,adding more rooms and removing some we had already built.Those sixteen hour days were in the past,now we had an easy nine. The boss was in a good mood,he and his boyfriend had gotten married the week before and he was still smiling when he told us to take a double lunch(two hours)after we did a final check of all the rooms on the top floor.Jose my best friend got on the cell and ordered some chinese from the best place in town PANDA HOUSE. My usual shrimp lo mein,2 egg rolls and his usual small pork fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. As we made our down the stairs(the elevators hadnt been safety checked and were locked out at the bottom of the seventh floor) i got a call from my exgirlfrineds sister. She was telling me how her sister missed me and had been crying for two weeks,i just yeahed and okayed my way thru the call but i promised to call her after work. Jose and i got in the company truck(88 chevy crewcab longbed with ladder rack on top)along with our electrician,an older guy in his late forties from bosnia named Yuri who after living here for 12 years could barely speak english but talked to me in spanish. He told me he learned it when he was stationed on cuba during his time in the red army.The radio was talking about food riots in north korea again and some crazy tribal violence in kenya where reports were people had started to attack others and were biting people and something about monkeys having a new strain of rabies.I put in a cypress hill cd as yuri went into the burger hut across the street from us.He ate a burger every day at lunch except on mondays when his super hott daughter(think of a blond megan fox) brought him some food.
