I was stationed in Al Jaraf, Iraq when our team got a call. The job was that a commander on a firebase in the Afghanistan Mountains was afraid he didn't have enough support to hold out. But the problem was the U.S. Army occupying the Middle East didn't want to send any men. So this commander calls us saying he's got a million dollars (that's 50 Gs each) and that he'll pay us if we come up there as support. Course our answer was Fuck yeah and as soon as the guy finish the call we grabbed all our gear hopped into our twin deuce and a half and got rolling.
It was a long ride maybe 18 hours, my balls and ass were hamburger meat after that run. The pounding of the deuce hurt like hell and for 18 hours it sure was. Lucky for me I had my laptop and a few movies. I was just in the middle of Creepshow with the story about the blob thing on the lake that kills the highschool kids. When we pulled into the base...finally. I jumped outta the truck looked around.
What I saw wasn't what I expected the defenses were strong, the walls were at least 5 feet thick and 15 feet tall of verticle concrete, they had at least two years worth of food, and over 10 million in ammo. I said "What the fuck are we here for?" I heard "Because were getting paid 50 Gs, that's why!" Well that was good enough for me. So I headed into the HQ and saw their commander he was a nervous wreck. He said "They're coming, they're a coming!" I replied "Yeah, Yeah,Yeah where's our money?" He looked up and said "Money? What money?" I answered angrily "THE MONEY YOU PAID FOR US TO FUCKING COME HERE YOU JACKASS" he started laughing "THERE'S NO MONEY YOU FOOL" I nearly busted a nut "THERE NO MONEY? FUCK IT THEN I'M OUTTA HERE"
Then the alarm went off I heard yells "OH SHIT LOOK AT ALL OF THEM" or "CLOSE THE GATE" I ran outside searchlights were on and the team was on the wall I charged up there and what I saw sent chills up my spine. The whole fucking hillside was covered in zack literally more than I'd ever seen before. I unshoulder my AR-15 turned the sight to nightvision and started blasting heads as did everyone else. We broke the first line the problem was there were 100 behind it and they were advancing. Next volley of single shot firing took out another wave and then another. This went on for 3 hours straight the reason they didn't get to us so fast is because they were all shamblers and they kept tripping over their dead buddies body. By the time they got to the wall we'd gave up firing for the night we headed into the underground sleeping holds they were underground so we couldn't hear the moans. Thank god for that too I've heard stories about guys who went nuts from the moans and threw themselves over the walls just to be eaten.
This was just the first day and I still haven't gotten paid....
