A Threat Beyond Zombies: Raiders

Hello there! I'm new to the site and I think this site is amazing. Whole settlements of survivors! Other wandering lost souls making contact. Consider one new settlement added to the the list. But, I'm not here to talk about that. Right now, I'm not even here to talk about zombies. Right now, I'm addressing an issue that has yet to be brought up. Raiders.

But what are Raiders? Raiders are groups of people who prey upon the weak to support themselves. Think of all the bullies in your old high school, except this time, equip them with guns, madness, savagery, and barbarism. (OK, so maybe the only new one is guns.) Oh, and hey, this time around, there's no Principal to keep them in check. They WILL raid any trade routes that have been set up for some time and if a settlement look to be easy pickings, they WILL raze it to the ground.

The Raider mentality seems to be one of brute force. In just these two years, it seems that their society has fallen back to brutish tribes where the strongest rules. They apparently seem to be semi-nomadic; they only stay in one place long enough to use up the resources there and then they pick another target and move to that one.

Raiders seem to be using guns at an alarming rate and have no issue with throwing as many rounds your way as they possibly can. I'm unsure at this time if they just don't care how many rounds they expend because of their stupidity or if they do it because their cache is so large. The first if probably the most viable, but I wouldn't put the latter out of thought.

Leaders of any communities or settlements also need to keep their people safe! Raiders WILL take people away to either be slaves or food. One Raider we captured, and then fed to the zombies, had his teeth filed down to points. He said they were for their feasts. Because I personally saw them drag off two screaming people (BOTH from my settlement -Jessica Smith- -Ryan Albright-) I have no doubt that they had a feast that night. I don't want to think about that they did to Jessica....
