At some point WMTV-TV just stopped broadcasting anything but helicopter views of the Milwaukee area burning, cars stalled on the highways, looters smashing windows, society there basically taking a shit. I tried phoning my mother when I saw a bird's eye view of Brookfield Square Mall with the roof aflame and people running out carrying Coach handbags necessary for the upcoming zombie apocalypse. ( Milwaukee was always like Wisconsin's version of the Balkan States or South Africa in that no one likes the folks on the other side of town especially if they're of another skin color. Somehow I knew they wouldn't pull together and just shoot at each other. And they didn't dissapoint,) The result wasn't her picking up but a bizarre URRP-URRP-URRRP sound that eminated from the other end. A crawl on the bottom of the screen: Rock County shut its border with Walworth County after some infections were reported in Delevan. What to tell my own mother? The Walworth County Sherriff in Elkhorn promised to set up a "safe zone" at the County Fairgrounds, but then that was too late. And that's how I lost my mother. Pardon me if I don't expand on that
