It has been a while since my last update, but recently things have been hectic; I plan to give a full account of the events, but collaborating with a companion of mine who was present and provided a major role in our survival, happens to be a number of miles away, so it may take some time.

Regardless, today I set out to the reformed Trader's Market. In the recent events the Cultists have been largely turned away from their path, or routed, so the square and many of the safe houses are back under 'Friendly' control.

At any rate, my sister and I set out early this morning. Ironically, I had barely slept at all, as seems to happen often when I'm needed on a long excursion. Regardless however, we set out up the quickest trail up the mountain armed somewhat heavily. On the way up, my sister apparently heard a Helicopter, which is odd, but it may be that a mission I set up a long, long time ago has finally reached fruition; I will have to find out about that.

We likewise heard some sort of yell on our way up the hill, just before reaching our usual clearing. We thus halted for a short period of time to scan the area, but couldn't see anything from our position in the trees. Moving up however, we found that one of the more defensible houses off the road had been converted into a safehouse, a fortunate thing, should we ever become ambushed in this area.

An odd thing we noticed however was what appeared to be some sort of infection or fungus in the grass up here; very odd looking, and like nothing I have seen before. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to photograph it, but as it happens I have only speculation that the virus may be able to affect certain types of plant life... I am hoping this is not so. Bypassing it for now however, we continued into town.

There was much less weapons fire than the last time we went to the market. Either they were being more cautious due to lack of numbers, or we had taken care of most of the large front from last week. Whatever the cause, we had a few small skirmishes, but beyond that we were fine.

To be more specific on a couple of details during our move through the city, at one point we were assailed by a single Zombie which still bore some religious icons in hand. Dispatching that one and moving on, we forsook our usual route and took a short cut through some alleyways, passing by the car park, which appeared to have been lightly fortified; when I say light, I mean quite light. I don't think it would hold anything off, but it may have been a simple prelude to a more inspired attempt at providing more ground for the Market, in a safer location; or perhaps it is meant to be a guard post. Either way, we paused there only for a moment.

Reaching the market, we met up with my mother and one of my cousins, who were helping to regroup the traders. Collecting a fair amount of supplies here, we eventually set out laden, to a safe house down past the library; just like last time, we were being slated to resupply partially. First we went to an old restaurant where a number of women were held up in, and we escorted them to the next area, an old Salvation Army outlet which likewise had a number of people within. After that we went to my mother's abode for a long while, due to a number of Undead that had started to track us. The building, while not very well fortified, is only accessible by way of stairs, and so after having removed a few steps and setting replacements both up top and down at the bottom (To be placed and taken up or down, depending on where you're going) thus ensuring complete safety for a little while.

There was a brief period in which we were forced to exit however, to aid a number of survivors making their way through the area; My sister was providing covering fire from the balcony while my mother and I helped the group move their large wagon of supplies over a rock wall that was impeding their progress. It went quite well, and not too long afterwards we were on our way back home, with several crates of supplies. All in all it was a good haul, much better than last time, oddly enough. The journey home had little of event worth mentioning, but my mother stayed for a short while which was a pleasant thing.

At any rate, there it is; I apologize for the lateness of the entry, both in terms of week and in time (I had meant to post this much earlier in the day). I will update on the matters of this week when I can; until then, stay alive, folks.
