Beware my friends for we are the children of a dying breed...
I'm really glad to be online again! Electricity had been cut off for almost two weeks due to a undead runover of the local powerplant. Here in our barricaded hospital we have diesel-generators that had been installed just for such a case - but we're out of fuel since months.
The plantation used to be well protected with electric fences and a team of specialists. The Team included scientists and a heavily armed tactic squad that normally wouldn't be overun that easily, but somehow the army of the living dead managed to prey among them. We had no other idea what could have happened.
After hours of waiting and failing tries of radio contact we decided that we had no other choice than to move out and gain back control of the powerplant.
It's important for you to know that the powerplant is a very clever construction. It produces electricity through biological gas and the main source for biomass these days is: zombies. They are hunted down and thrown into the fermenting vats. It's the only way for them to become useful.
With eight people in an armored van we left the hospital early in the morning to rescue the powerplant. After we drove about five kilometers we reached the destination and to our surprise there was no sign of an undead overrun. Only a few of the bastards were lurking around and eleminated quickly. After securing the area we tried to get into the planation. It was not that easy because the main doors could only be opened from inside. So we chose to jump over the fences which were out of electricity too. We climbed onto the top of our van and managed to get in.
You'll never guess what really had happened! We only found one damn zombie and the rest of the powerplant's team killed by natural cause...
How that? Well here's the answer.
A medical helicopter with an infected person on board somehow crashed into the powerplant. Maybe because of technical or undead problems - we'll never know. The helicopter chopped off the plantation's radio antenna and then hit a part of the main building and a fermentation vat. The pilot of the helicopter was killed immediatly and his crew maybe also. The infected person which they had onboard "survived" the impact but was trapped inside the wreck. He mutated in into a real zombie and fed himself upon the dead helicopter crew. I shot him and cut off his head with a shovel.
The impact destroyed several pipelines which caused the emergency power shutoff. Unfortunately for the plantation's team, the deadly foul gases made their way into the building, where they silently killed them while they were reacting to the helicopter-crash. We even found some of them lying in their beds. They were all dead.
It took several days to repair the power plant. A new team arrived very quickly and since yesterday the the badly needed power for some hundred human survivors in my region is on again.
This time we were lucky. But who knows what the future brings...
yours
