Avaro realized they were getting close to Ruth's house, and when they got there, they honked the horn a few times. He saw Ruth come running out, a big stack of medkits in hand, while her older sister, Desir, carried more. They threw them in the van and climbed in. No one said a word, not even Vice, who knew this was going to be happening. Everything was in chaos. Cars crashing into each other around them, and ghouls picking off those whos car wasn't functioning. Avaro saw one of those freaks grab onto one lady and quite literally spill her intestines with a single rip of it's jaws. He looked away, pushing the hideous sight from his mind. Eco's house was getting closer, and as Avaro saw it, his jaw dropped.
Ghouls were surrounding the whole house, begging for a way to get in. Avaro could see Eco at the window, shooting at... Now he understood. The ghouls were already in, some of them just didn't know there was a way in until Eco disappeared from the window and kicked down the front door, killing a zombie in the process. Eco was a no-nonsense man, six feet tall, and the closest man to Chuck Norris you'll find anywhere. He used to work on trucks, but he spent his free time... Avaro couldn't finish the thought as a visceral, unearthly cry ripped through the moans and snarls of the zombies. Eco chugged on, despite having two ghouls clinging to his arm, tearing at him. He threw three gas cans into the van, and shouted something before the whole horde that was at his house discovered that dinner was served. As they moved away from that horrific, gut-wrenching sight, Avaro knew surviving in a world like this wouldn't be easy.
Several hours (And rounds of ammunition) later, Vice had actually found a safe place. National Guards were loading supplies into trucks, and Vice held up a card that read "Camp St. Teresa PassCard". Avaro and the others stepped out, and approached a National Guard with a rifle. Avaro thought he must have looked like a crazed gunman with the rifle in his hand and the blood from the freaks staining his sweatshirt, but the guard only glanced at him. "I have a passport, sir, for St. Teresa." Vice told the guard, and instantly the guard was helping him over to a truck with several other people in it. Other filled trucks laid in wait nearby. Avaro cocked his head, and ran over to the guard helping Vice into the truck. "Hey! We gotta go too! Those freaks are right on our tails." The guard shook his head. "No passports, no entry, sir." The guard told him in a rehearsed voice. Vice took something out of his pocket, and tossed it to them. Avaro caught another PassCard with his name and information on it, even a vacation picture of him from Florida. Desir, Ruth, and Avaro handed over their cards, and the guard oddly accepted them. They were loaded into the same truck as Vice, and Desir got all their supplies from the van. It was awkward, being the only people holding gas canisters, medkits and rifles, but when the first outlines of the infected appeared on the horizon as they drove towards St. Teresa's, Avaro realized it was well worth it.
