Background, kinda long but worth a read

So though Im new to the site I thought the little short background was in deed too short. I've always pondered the whole zombie epidemic and if it were to ever happen what would I do. Well now that it's a full blown pandemonium I wonder when it will end. As I sit to write the first blog with many to come I think to the past. Im 28 and have always been a fan of horror, slashers, thrillers and sci-fi. Also love the out doors, getting to go out and hunt and fish is a plus. I got to spend lots of time doing that, it's funny how things work out sometimes. Anyways I did a stent in the national guard 86 Field artillery I was a ammo guy, lol. I got to haul ammo to farp sites and wait for the tanks to come grab and go. It was fun but I've did my time and now I spend some time in the USMC reserves, our base is in NY at a local airport, we run security and MP positions are always a great time. I have 2 kids and a wife and some animals, we're a pretty basic family. I sit and wonder where they might be. See when this shit went down it was like a nuke went off and everyone was in a panic, trampling over others to get out. We were out at a nice restaurant for a nice "day off" from the kids, see we sent them to there grand parents house. We got our regular table and had a seat, I was kind of glad to see some action on the TV instead of the normal blah blah blah. I ordered my beer and went to take a leak. As I stepped away the Emergency broadcast network blip came on as I stepped into the mens room. I proceeded to grab a stall and unzip I could hear lots of footsteps coming from the outside and a lot of garbled talking. I finished and flushed, and washed up. When I opened the door I was seemingly in shock to see tables pushed aside and some over turned chairs. Hell even the bar had a tall beer over flowing. I wondered really what the hell was going on. I walked around to my table and my wife was gone hell the whole restaurant was empty. I looked up to the tv and they were all the same blue screens. I started for the door and a man ran by me, I yelled to find out what the hell was up but before I could say anything he was out the door. I strolled out the door. Cars were half out of the parking lot and doors flung open, some were still running. I scratched my head and started walking to my truck which was still in the lot (luckily) I pushed the auto start and headed in and out the lot. I tried my cellphone to call the wife but it had no service. I saw a mobile and I pulled in and went inside. I looked for the clerk to ask to use the phone since the pay phone was broken, it was like the restaurant empty, the coffee maker was on and brewing and the floors were wet from a fresh clean. I looked around starting to get weirded out when the clerk came out from the bathroom and almost scared the shit from my britches. I asked her if I could use the phone since the cell had 0 service, she told me good luck all the phone lines are busy. I asked what is going on and she said nobody knows. I grabbed a coffee and figured I'd try going back to the house I thanked the clerk and was about to walk out when I noticed someone near my truck trying to open the door. I walked out and asked the guy if I could help him. He told me he was taking my truck and I needed to get inside quick. Now like hell I was going to let someone take my truck, hell the door was locked and the alarm had already set off it's warning. I simply told the guy to back off, he pulled a large butterfly knife from his pocket and waved it at me and said if I tried to stop him he'd stick me. Lol and benounced to him I never leave the house without my gun and I drew it from its holster from under my coat and ordered him to get on his face. As he continued to plea with me not to shoot him I noticed a slow moving person in the distance, heading our way. The guy looked sick, I shouted to him and asked if he needed help, no response. By this time the guy who tried to steal my truck had gone to his knees and was laying about 10 feet in front of me. The figure that had been headed our way was even closer to where I could make out that there was something seriously wrong. Again I ordered this person to stop but he kept coming, I knew then it was do or die. I shot him in the chest, the sound echoed all around, the blood spattered out his back and blew all over the ground. He dropped and I trained my attention to guy who tried to steal my truck. He just knelt there with his hands now over his ears. I looked back over to see the thing I just shot getting to it's feet and heading my way again. I'm now starting to get a little freaked out, BANG I pop another one in his leg this time, he just keeps coming, BANG another shot in the other leg, he just kept coming. He is now getting very close, too close for comfort, I aimed once again and put one in his head, it blew the back of it's skull and brain matter all over the ground. At this point my alarm is now going off in my truck, I push the auto start and tell the thief to get back, he pleads for me to take him but Im having none of this, I aim at him and order him to back off while I get in. I turn to step in and I hear him scream. I look and see about 3 more things grab him and drag him to the ground and start eating him. I jump in my truck and take off. Now Im scared shitless as I pull out of the station Im clueless on where Im going.....
