September 1st ( man I'm glad to see land)

Captain Gomez has asked for volunteers to venture out on to the Island. Not one person raised a hand. Expect for the cook, he wanted to prove everybody wrong and that he wasn't nuts. Capt. Gomez then asked for anybody else. So being so sea sick or just plain sick of the sea. I volunteered. Next up was Dr. Green, Sgt. Eddie Falco and a few others. We were issued enough supplies and munitions for two days, after which we were to return to the ship with samples of flora and fauna. We all got in the boat and 'set sail half a mile away from the boat. " Isn't this exciting?" The cook said. "Boldly going where no.."
" I hated that show." Sgt. Falco interrupted. " Its all about good times, Dy-No-MITE!"

"Were coming up close gentlemen, so stay sharp, we don't know whats on that Island. Once we arrive, we set up a recon and make camp, at dawn we go on a patrol inside the Jungle." Lt. J.R. Craft explained. I didn't said much at the time, but on the inside, I was giddy inside. Exploring a mysterious island took your mind away from the realities of the hell you were now living in. Why should any of the crew go back to the U.S.? it looks like we found paradise. The Island is beautiful, it feels like Hawaii, but looks like the amazon. No wonder the Capt. sent us to investigate. I pitched my tent next to a berry bush because they look sweet and beautiful. Lt. Craft advised his not to consume wild plant life because we don't know yet which will fill us up or just plain kill us. The berry bush still looks good though.

The cook started to whip up some beef pasta and potatoes. I think he had a thing for Dr. Greene, well alota guys on the ship do, but he's the only one she seems to be fond of. Lt. Craft send out Pvt. Cannady and PFC Davis. To scout head two hours ago. They having showed up yet and the rest of the crew are concerned something might have happens. Its getting dark soon, Lt. Craft deems of too dangerous to send out another party to find them. Well have to wait until morning.

I was having an awesome dream of life before the plague, it was summer and I was at my grandpa's ranch swimming in the creek and playing Donkey Kong before bed. I was woken up to the sounds of screaming. I immediately jumped out and reached for my M16A1. Everyone else was waking up too. it was PVT. Davis his chest had dried blood and dirt caked on and his legs had small cuts on it. " Dr. Greene, attend to this man!" Lt. Craft ordered. Dr. Green bought out her supplies and began cleaning the wound. " Theirs monsters here! I swear." Pvt. Davis rambled on. " Living Deads? Roamers?" Lt. Craft asked. "No, I wish. I can handle LD's, these weren't human, they were like lizards from hell. They walked on two legs, and were the size of big dogs. Cannady was taking a piss when it happened. They pounced on him and he tried to fight them off with his machete. They were too close to him for me to shoot so I tried punching and kicking. He fell into a rushing river, and they went after him. Thats the last I seen. But that wasn't it, as I began to fire away at them. Something just seemed to scare them off. I thought it was just me but I wasn't sure. A monster the size of a bus came crashing down. I hid for a half an hour. Then slowly started to crawl. After I was sure I lost it I ran here, I should have done more, It's my fault." Pvt. Davis muttered something else, before passing out.

" Get some rest soldier." Lt. Craft said. " The rest of you I want on full alert. Theres something out there and I have deemed it hostile, do not engage unless threatened." The rest of the squad clicked their safeties off. A loud roar pierced the darkness, filling with hunger and power. " Something very big was coming.
