DESCRIPTION:
This is one of the most common form of infected encounter, especially in the early stages of an out break. They are often referred to as "stenches" by survivors due to the odor their decomposing bodies produce.

CREATION:
Walkers are the result of a person being killed before the infection fully takes hold. Since the victim dies the chemicals that cause decomposition and rigor mortise are released. This process slowly begins to break down the zombie making them slow moving and stiff. There is often a sound associated with walkers that has been reported to be like the sound of snapping bones. This come from the rigor mortise causing the muscles to stiffen so that when the walker moves the rigor mortise is slowly being broken out. This coupled with tissue rot makes then a relatively slow and weak threat, but they should still be treated with caution.

DESTRUCTION:
Since the walker is a slow moving infected the are fairly easy to dispatch. almost anyone can kill them with a single head shot provided the know how to accurately fire a gun. They can also be dispatched easily with a melee weapon, however this isn't recommended for a group of multiple walkers as they can still overwhelm the over confident. Only use a melee weapon when you have no other choice and even then on no more than three walkers.
