When it gets right down to it, there is nothing better then the smell of clean air. As I walked out, almost tip-toeing, there was none of I them walking around outside. Maybe they were all interested in the front of the store. Fortunately the Elephant had done a great job at killing them for me. I don't usually take credit for things, but this time, I think I will.

The sun was shining and the smell of the air was something I just couldn't get over. I hadn't smelled this in a long while. Usually, my nostrils were filled with the stench of the living dead that permeated throughout this whole town. I don't know what it was that was making the air actually breathable. Maybe just an updraft between the buildings. But in a world like this, this world that I've found myself living in, things like this don't stay for too long. And I was right. Standing with my nose titled to the sky, I heard a noise an without having a second thought, I bolted to the opposite direction. I'm really starting to hate myself for not giving things some extra thought. I'm just glad that the reaction times have saved my life.

I looked down the alley from the other side, and it must have been the clean air that I was relishing in or I was really high some how. If my eyes were correct that Elephant followed me outside. He was standing there, with the same expression of confusion that he was wearing inside the store. Ha, who would have thought I would say they could have expression. I didn't stay look at him. Partially because it was unnerving to watch one them stare at you and not just try and get your insides on your outside.

I found myself running to the place from which I came. Heading back to my "safe" place. I opened up a bottle of water and took a swig. When it comes down to it, there is nothing better then a drink of clean water.

The place that I was going wasn't too bad. Everything didn't smell so horrible and it was kind of sound proof. I found some composite materials in a hardware store. I wrapped it all over the walls of my little nook that I have going. It was warm, which was the best part. Everything in there stimulated some kind of feelings that well, kept me a little more sane. I had taken the liberty to write all over the outside with spray paint, just in-case there happened to be some lonely traveler that needed shelter. Or at least anyone that could read. I just pray that if it comes down to it, there'd be nothing better than to have a lost and lonely girl show up at my place. But that's just hopeful thinking. Because as far as I'm concerned, everyones already dead.
