Day 405 and what a good day it is. We saved three survivors today, military from the looks of them. It's a relief to know there are still people alive even after so long, I had almost given up hope for anyone to come. We managed to clear enough of a path for them to pull their massive transport truck into the depot, although the stunt caught the attention of many more zombies then we're comfortable with... They'll wander off eventually though.
I had hoped the vehicle they came in with had, at the very least, ammo and weapons in it. I was disappointed to find that they had only been carrying supplies from a grocery store they scavenged. Only enough to last them for a fucking week... The only reason I attempted to risk our lives and bring them in was to bring more supplies our way and hopefully increase our chances of survival. Now, it seems, I've made a terrible error in judgment. All they've brought us is a few empty guns, a weeks supply of food and water, and a huge ass truck that we can't use. So help me god, if one of them gets an ego and tries to pull some "this is now a military operation" kind of shit, I will kill them myself.
I don't trust them yet, but I do like that truck. T.O. and I have been talking about what we can do to it. Sure, we can reinforce the hell out of it, make it into a tank if we wanted. We happen to be screwed, however, on fuel. We have plenty of regular and unleaded fuel to go around for the F150 and the El Camino, but this thing is running on diesel. Only about a quarter tank left too. Now, we could probably run it on regular, but it would burn it up pretty damn fast. So, the Shell station on the corner is what we need to hit, but with all these deadheads surrounding the building now, we'll never make it out the front door without letting them all in. I need some time to think of a plan...
Danny, Josh and Dalton. Those are their names, the newcomers. They tell me that they're considered AWOL because they left their post. Hah. Who's going to court marshal them? Their undead superiors? They were smart to have left their post, because it was overrun. I know because the CB transmissions from that outpost stopped about 8 months ago. Regardless of why they're here, they're here. This means a lot of new things are going to be happening. One, I won't be the only one to be stuck with half the fucking chores anymore, and two, we have enough healthy people to make an attempt to hit that Walgreens. Although, after being on the run from zombies and military alike, they might need some time to chill out and rest. The last thing I need is for one of them to snap under stress and snap everyone's neck in their sleep...
I'll see what I can come up with, for now, I get to finally sleep, because Josh is on patrol.
