When the super flue first hit my area I was still in school, during school to be exact. From what knowledge I managed to gather of that day from other students, the infection started in the east quad of my school. I was lucky to have been in the West quad at the time. Unfortunately I attended a Three story school. I came down the stairs to the second floor when I see people running, and screaming toward the down staircase. I tried to ask people what it was they were running from, but no one stopped to tell me, it was chaos. I'm a very curious person, and even though logic dictates that I should run with the people I decide to go see what it was they were running from. The instant I turn the corner to the hallway leading to E1 (The building next the one I was currently in) I see a friend of mine staring at me, and covered in blood. When you see anyone starring at you the way my friend was you just run, so i booked it out'a that hallway as fast i could.

As soon as I turned the corner I ran into someone else, and knocked them flat on their feet. I tell them "Dude I think you should, my friend back there doesn't look to right in head" and ran. the other guy didn't take my advice, and turned the corner like i had, he was soon running with me. We both made it to the down stair case to the 1st floor just fine. The other guy was faster than me and decided to run ahead. Every building in my school have Lockers for their students arranged in rows, momentarily you'll find out why this is important. As my athletically gifted companion ran toward the exit (with me trailing behind) a hidden student lunged at him from one of the rows of lockers, and quickly proceeded to bit at his neck. most people probably would have stared, or at least helped, but I just kept running.

When I finally exited E2 I saw that my situation wasn't unique, I saw stragglers from each of the buildings in the East quad. Apparently me, and a few other people had lucked out, and had completely been sparred the pre-apocalyptic madness that had occurred only minutes before. I knew there was an exit in East quad so i ran for it. What I saw next raised my hopes for finally reaching safety, then quickly ripped them out.

As I ran toward the East quad exit, from the distance I could see the mob of students that had ran out of E2 before me, then I saw some Army person-el, and thanked the lord that something was being done for whatever it was that was going on. That was until i saw them gun down all of the students exiting the building. why the army was involved, how they even found out I soon learned.

Now that  I knew the East quad exit was out of the question I decided to try my luck at the West quad exit. I took off for the West quad section, as I was running to the West quad I ran into my friend Jessica. she was coming from the West quad, I had never seen someone look so scared before. I asked Jessica what was wrong, and she told me about her classroom, and how she was the only one that got out alive. she also told me that the first kid to turn was in her classroom. I asked Jessica if the East quad exit was open, she gave me a look that told me there was no use in trying. At that moment I ran out of ideas, until i remembered that there was a secret staff exit in the teachers lounge, I told Jessica, and she agreed to follow me. The Teachers lounge was located in East quad.

As we entered into the E4 building toward the teachers lounge we could hear the gnawing of flesh coming from the staff cafeteria room, the irony of that was only to horrifying. The staff exit was just across the hallway from where me, and Jessica were. I decided to be the strong man, and make the first sprint past the cafeteria. I should have learned my lesson back at E2 that this only lead to an ambush. As I neared the exit I was tackled by one of the staff members who had turned into what by now I could only call a zombie. I thought to myself. "its over, I'm done, I never had a chance". Unlike me, Jessica decided to stop, and help me. She managed to kick off the zombie, help me up, just in time to see that the zombies from the cafeteria had heard the noise, and were coming for us. You have never been truly afraid till you see, and hear a horde of zombies coming at you in a cramped space. The exit was right behind us so we didn't  want to stick around any longer. As soon as we go out i saw one of the army person-el, I ducked into a nearby bush. Jessica saw him to, but her reaction was much slower, she was immediately gunned down along with the zombies behind her.

I waited for the person-el to enter the building before I even thought about getting up. I was now the only survivor to make it out of the school, alive anyways. Some of the zombies had made it out, witch is more than I can say for the Army squads that were sent back in to clear the area. Getting back would prove an even more difficult task, but thats a story for another time.
