I was never afraid of the dark before but now since Z-Poc you learn not to be out alone after sunset. You know immediately that something is wrong because a thousand chirping crickets are suddenly quite. You scramble to find somewhere to hide as the only sound you hear is the thunderous beating of your own heart. Then you hear it a ghastly moan that sends shivers down your spine and every hair on the back of your neck stand up. Your body is telling you to move get out of here fast and now, MOVE! However, your to terrified to move to afraid to even wipe the cold sweat from your face. You find it difficult to fight the fear that is coming over you, as the seconds seem to drag out in to minutes. You heart beats louder and harder you swear it will give you away. Then you see them pouring out of the darkness. Shambling ever-closer a thousand thoughts run through your mind. If you shoot, will it attract more zombies? Can they see you or worse can the smell you? Were they following you if so since when and why did not notice them sooner? Than if by a miracle just as your about to squeeze the trigger you hear it the echoing booms of gun fire its not far off but thankfully its close enough to draw these zombies away from you and towards their next victims. You release a breath you did not even know you were holding leaving you mentally exhausted a single though runs through your mind “Poor bustards you should have held your fire.”
