So we actually got some sleep last night. We all woke up and my mom and Craig's parents had fixed everyone in the house a nice big pancake breakfast.
Afterwards, my mom, brother, sister and I packed up our car again and made our way down the street back to our house. My aunt's door was still open when we got there and her body was on the floor where Craig and I had dragged it the night before. So over the next half hour or so, my brother and I were able to fix the door. Before we barricaded it, my brother helped me move my aunt's body down to the creek that runs in front of our house. But as soon as we dropped her into the stream, we heard a blood-curdling scream from inside our house. My sister came running outside screaming with tears running down her face. I heard my mom yelling from her window that there were three of those monsters trying to get into her room. I told my brother to grab the chainsaw from the car and I ran upstairs with my bat. I started hitting the floor to grab their attention, and grab their attention I did. As one started running towards me, I stood my ground and swung my bat as hard as I could. All I heard was glass shatter. I looked and there was a huge hole in the window with the things head flying through it. My brother had gotten the chainsaw and was standing next to me while the other two were destroying my mom's bedroom door. My brother and I ran down the hall and tore into those things with everything we had. Blood was shooting everywhere with that chainsaw ripping one of them apart as I swung away at the skull of the other. That was the scariest moment of my life: realizing I came SO close to losing both my mother and my sister at the same time. They were both crying like I've never seen either of them cry before. I didn't know what to do at that point, so I just sat on the couch and just stared straight ahead for a good twenty minutes.
Later, after we dragged the bodies of those things out to our backyard, we barricaded all the doors and windows in our house with pieces of wood we got from chopping up some tables with the saw. For shits and giggles, I decided to pop in a DVD of the remake of "Dawn of the Dead" and just laughed all the way through. That was the first time my whole family watched a favorite movie of mine without complaining about it. Of course, the only way I could get my mom to watch one of my movies would be during the end of the world.
After dealing with that welcome home committee, we're all tired and happy to sleep in our own beds again. We have no plans for tomorrow so far besides to just continue surviving (obviously). If anything worth mentioning happens, I'll be sure to write again tomorrow.
Goodnight.
