Once I finished "ending" my team at the research center I realized that no matter how many infected I finished off, there was still no way I could contain it on my own. There was just too many that had been infected in such a short time. I sealed as many doors as I could on my way out, that had to contain around two or three hundred infected but there were at least still one thousand or more inside the center that were not contained. I didn't think I was even going to make it out, but one of the doctors guided me towards a tunnel that led to the vehicle warehouse, then much like a captain that goes down with his ship, the doctor sealed himself inside with a smile and a head nod. The only thing on my mind after seeing all that evil was getting to my family. As I drove off the grounds of the center I couldn't believe the view I had in the rear view. It was unlike any thing I had ever imagined, hundreds maybe thousands of these shells of what once were friends, co-workers and some even family all out for blood, my blood as it looked in the rear view. On the way home I had seen two kids playing basketball as their parents were rushing to pack their car and before I fully passed them they were all swarmed and seemingly eaten alive. My neighborhood seemed fairly quite almost as if nobody knew what was happening. Most houses that I passed still had the vehicles in the driveway and lights on their porches. Once I got inside my house everything was normal, my wife, Jennifer, was watching the news and my daughter was playing dolls. The news was already trying to down play it, to cover it up with lies telling people to remain calm and don't leave the area. It was typical govt. bull! Our standard protocol for this situation was to keep everyone with-in a 50 mile radius contained in hopes that it wouldn't spread any further and once we had that area sealed off with troops, the next course of action was TERMINATION OF ALL INSIDE THE INFECTED AREA!! Thats right everyone and everything, thats why the media was so quick to tell everyone to stay put, the less people trying to get out, the less we had to work to keep them in! I told Jennifer to get all the canned food, batteries, radio, flashlights and blankets together and leave everything else, there was no time to save the things that make up your past like pictures or videos, just a few things to maybe help you survive. I gave her directions to the safest location I could think of, which is about 10 hours away in a small city in Ohio called LaCroft but it would be safe and only my family knew about it because my dad built it underneath my childhood home. He always believed something horrible would happen one day so he prepared for it! For a few minutes before they left I almost gave up and got in with them and drove far away, let somebody else deal with this but I couldn't and they knew I had to stay and try to fix this. Before they pulled off I handed my wife my Glock 9mm, 3 fully loaded magazines and said aim for the head!!
