my brother, sister and I a couple days before the outbreak
It's about time.... I joined a week ago but I didn't have time to do anything. I'm lucky I finally got to a computer when I did. Well I guess I'll start out by saying some things about myself and our situation over here. My name is R.P. Duffy and I'm running (well, driving) around New York with my mom and little sister, Morgan. Right now, we're looking for my younger brother, Tom, who was with some friends in the city when the outbreak occured. We've only actually talked to him about three or four times in the past two months or so. We've got one cell phone now and we leave it off for as long as possible as to not waste the battery since we're never in one place long enough to charge it. It's been so hard to find Tom because him and his friends have to move around so much to avoid those
things that seem to be everywhere. The last time we had contact with him (about 2 days ago), he told us another one of his friends had "died," which leaves him with just these two girls I don't know. He told us they were able to make it to Radio City Music Hall, and was "95% sure" that the three of them were alone in the whole building, which is a good thing to hear. He let us know that the three of them would try to find their way up to the roof. One of the girls he was with figured that's where they'd be the safest, which I can't really argue with, I guess. So now that we know where he is, we'll be starting our search-and-rescue mission tomorrow morning, although I'm not sure how much rescuing, as much as delaying the inevitable, we can actually do. We've already lost my aunt to the virus. I'm gonna have to take more responsibility over my mom and sister to make sure nothing like that happens to them. I can only hope for the best for the rest of my family and friends.
The three of us are spending the night in a barber shop about a mile away from our house. We would be sleeping at home tonight, but my "aunt" might still be there and I'd much rather not have to deal with hurting her, even if she isn't really herself anymore. So I should probably go to bed now. We've got to get up early in the morning to go find my brother. I'll charge the phone and this laptop I found, so I'll try and write tomorrow.
Goodnight and God help us all...
