November Contests

We have a bunch of Lost Zombies contests running for November. There's something for everyone: writers, photographers and filmmakers. We've created a contest group where we'll be hosting contest information moving forward. Please join.

Thanks to all those who submitted to the October contest. We'll be reviewing the submissions over the next couple of weeks and we'll announce a winner soon. So far the submissions look great.

Congrats again to Okota for winning the September contest. We've sent his custom LZ hoodie, maybe he'll model it for us and send in a pic.

I'd also like to welcome Dawn as the latest member of the moderator team. Please make her feel welcome and appreciated.

Mailbag:

jim jacobs asks: there is this notion that everything we submit to this site, our contributions, are being used to make money for the creators of this site and the creators of the work are cut out of the profits.

We will NEVER use anyone's contribution with out their consent. If we decide we want to use a member's contribution we will contact them and send them a licensing agreement or copyright assignment which they will need to sign in order for us to use their material. If members tell us they don't want us to use their submissions we don't. We understand that users put in a lot of hard work and if they wish to keep if for them selves that's perfectly understandable.

In regards to payment, we will have some kind of profit sharing or payment method in place for when we actually start compiling the movie. As of right now, we are not certain what the best approach is, because we don't know how many contributors there will be. It may be a one time payment, or it may be a profit sharing option, or some combination of the two. It may even be a third option that we are unaware of at this time.

To be crystal clear, submitting content of any kind to Lost Zombies does not grant us rights to use that content without your permission. At any time you can remove your content from the site.

If you have any thoughts or recommendations on how to include the users in the success of Lost Zombies, we'd like to hear them.
