Part 2 of my story (i really like this one if you read it and see any errors please comment and tell me)

I am a traitor, or at least I feel like I am. With every step that takes me farther away from the ruins of my former home the feeling that I am somehow abandaning the last little bits of the life I had with my family increases. Its like somehow the small shred of hope I have left is a cell phone and the only tower anywhere near is the burnt out shell of my former home, the farther away i get the weaker my signal becomes. I dont know what I'll do when eventually my bars run out. This exile isnt voluntary. I would have been happy to sit in the smoke staind attic (probably the most well preserved room left back at the house) and wait till the end of time, but even though the attic is well preserved the supplies in it arent neccesarly in as good a shape. The caned food is , to the best of my judgment, fine. The clothes and blankets will probly always have a smoky smell but will keep me warm. Infact the fire did little damage to anything, the metal lining of the garage below the attic saved most my supplies from a firey fate. The reason i left my residence is the same reason my attic is still around, the rain. The down pour that extinguished the flames may not have been heaven sent after all, it seeped throught the open window which i had used to escape and drenched the matches signal flares and most importantly dissolved the water purification tablets. All the bottled water I had was all ready in my system and Ill be damned if I drink creek water and have to deal with a stomach full of worms.

After seeing my ruined supplies i made up my mind that i had to find some fresh water, or at least some matches so i could boil the old creek water. I was two miles down the road when i came to the first buildings (if you wanted to call them that) not related to the dairy. They were the small teal colored colored shacks that housed the meters for the natural gas pipeline. Once a month a represntative from the gas company would come and read the meters he would hit every meter in Davis County checking to make sure there were no leaks in the pipes that moved the massive quantities of natural gas to the processing plant down river from here. The building was the first thing to break the monopoply the trees had on the surrondings for over and hour. "I remember me and Kyle used to use that as base when we played hide and go seek." I thought to myself. Then all at once it hit me the emotional damn that the incidents of the past few days had caused broke and a title wave of fear hit my mind like third world beach. "How was Kyle was he okay?, did the raiders get to him?, what about his family?, maybe they had supplies, maybe they needed them!" I sprinted the half mile to his house.

Kyle was my closest neighbor, he and his Mom, Dad, and Sister lived just two and a half miles from the dairy farm in a large 2 story house. His father always said that it was more relaxing to be away form the hustle of town and i was thankful for it, without kyle and Megan, his sister, I would have no kids (not related to me) close to my age to play with. My heart skiped a beat when his house came into view partly out of joy, and partly of fear.

Cautiously i approached his front porch. I assended the steps slowly with care to observe my surroundings. Everything looked in tact, no blood, no fire, no broken windows. I frimly knocked on the door and listened... footsteps came, they were slow and methodical. I watched the door knob slowly rotate, click, the latch came unhooked. The door creaked open slightly, Kyle face poked out the crevis.
"Hey" he said almost indifferently.
"Kyle, are you okay?"
"Yea im fine"
"Great dude i need to come in and talk"
he paused
"I dont know...."
"Kyle!"
a voice inside rang out
"Let your friend in" It was his mother

Kyle paused, then pulled the door back slowly and let me step in. The inside was normal, just like i rememebered it the familiarity was a warm blanket on my tattered soul. I sat down in his dining room the almond paint of the room added to my warm feeling. Kyles mom walked in.

"Help yourself to some food Honey" she said to me, and i did

I devoured about a dozen pb&j sandwhiches I whiped up quickly. Kyle was oddly silent through my feeding. Whenever I talked to him he grunted a responce or didnt say anything at all. His behavior was odd, but i didnt care, an ounce of normalcy had returned to my life. After my 12th sandwhich and 5th bottle of water i caved in to my bodies mounting desires

"I need to take a leak" I said

"Yea" was all Kyle said

I walked down the main hall, a walk i had taken a thousand times. Pictures of Kyle and Megan adorned the walls, from the two as infant and toddler to last years school portrait. In a moment i would reach the end go in the bathroom and pee go back and see what was eating at kyle, but half way there something odd happened i heard a thud coming from the room i knew as "the playroom." I stoped. My body moved slowly, a second thump was heard, the folding door stood between me and the answer to the mysterious noise. I pushed it, as it moved bit by bit the answer to the riddle was revealed. Sitting in the play room was Megan, her legs tied several times over with heavy, thick rope to the legs of the chair she was sitting in against her will. her arms were done the same way. I could see the thick darker then normal blood that seeped out of cuts on her arm she had recieved from pulling her arms against the tightly tied rope. A wad of cloth was stuffed in her mouth, I could see her jaws clench as she tried to bite. abouve her, her mother stood twisting and playing with her hair, the same way she would do when the girl was alive. Megans cold, undead eyes followed her mothers hand every few seconds she would go into convoltions and try to bite her mothers caring hand, as her whole body would shake the thump that caught my attention at first would be heard. Her mother looked at me dead in the eyes.

"Shes not well" she said, and went back to the zombies hair.

I turned around shocked and sick at my stomach. Kyle stood at the other end of the hall.

"Kyle" I said "that thats not your sister anymore"

A quiver ran down him body, his face cruched up and he fell forward his face landed into my shoulder wet with tears

"I know" he said as he weeped "Just cant do what i know i have to"

His sobbs became undecipherable. Again i moved slowly. To the pantry this time. I picked up the fire extinguisher. It seemed heavy enough. I moved back into the hallway. Kyle was still crying in the floor this time. I steeped into the playroom. Kyles mother was gone. Megan eyed me she convolsed again and extended her head towards my body. She had no idea was was coming. I brought the heavy red object down on her head. Once. Twice. Three times. Each time i felt a little bit of bone give. By the forth time it was like hitting a stiff pillow. Megan moved no more.

I left the playroom

Kyle was still crying

Hanging from the top of the stairs was thier mother. The same heavy rope she used to bind her daughter was now around her neck. Her foot twitched slightly. Then was still. Forever.

".....and Ill be damned if I drink creek water and have to deal with a stomach full of worms." I really like that line..

I don't know about the peeing lines lol. It seems so serious then it reads "I need to take a leak" and "...In a moment i would reach the end go in the bathroom and pee"

Your story is really creative and I can get a good visual of what you're trying to show. Looks like you put a lot of work into it. I really like it :)
